Quoted from waruaki:Update on the visor decals. I have 3 left available to sell.
Thanks again for all the interest
Got mine in today. Packed great, looks fantastic and went on easy.
Thanks for getting these made and sharing.
If the larger T shaped head decal becomes available - let me know, I would be in for one.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Is the tax sticker paper? If it is let it soak in water till it softens.
I wish it was paper, its actually several years worth of plastic stickers stacked on top of each other.
The bottom one has a 1987 date and it is practically melted to the original decal.
I do not see these coming off without damage.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Oh crap, how about warming them.
Have not tried warming them, I may get the heat gun out and try it.
Quoted from jmountjoy111:If they are plastic can you freeze them with canned air? If it’s going to damage it anyway it’s worth a shot right
The freeze spray did nothing to them. Tough suckers ...
Quoted from wizard_mode:My plan is to apply them and then spray krylon triple thick over top to make them bling out.
If that technique works, I might be interested in these.
Looking forward to the results of your tests.
Thanks for getting another option available for those who might need it.
Quoted from cerberusdog:Is anyone reproducing the vortex ramps?
The black jackbot ramp are easier to find than the red pinbot ramp.

http://www.planetarypinball.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PPS-A-20080&Store_Code=PP
A few jackbot ramps on ebay too.
Quoted from Robotworkshop:Quoted from Darcy:
That shiny bracket that is stuck to your large blue playfield plastic, is usually missing on most PinBots. It protects the ramp lift from air balls.I'm surprised that someone like cliffy or otherwise hasn't reproduced that bracket. It is a simple piece and it is missing on a lot of machines.
The image posted earlier looks like the bracket is riveted on, mine was just using double sided tape. I am sure the tape dried out and the protector fell off.
Quoted from Robotworkshop:Any chance you could thermo form and make reproduction toppers for Pinbot? Mine is ok but I think there are quite a few others that need them.

Quoted from chaskett:I started doing a light vacuming of the playfield and pulled the blue shoulder ramp to find the switches are connected to the bottom. What's the best way to deal with this removal? Desolder the switches? Cut the wire and install new connectors? If yes to connectors, anyone have a link to what kind and a tutorial?
The switch wires have plugs on them under the playfield.
I did not know that and cut the wires - added plugs and then found the factory plugs the next day........
Quoted from chaskett:The three kickout plastics are white. What color should they be? I have see red for the eyes in some pictures.
A topic on this part:

Quoted from Strummy:PBR doesn't have the drop targets. Any other ideas?
How many do you need?
There is one on eBay.

And a used assembly.

Quoted from Aniraf:I’m scared to do it, but I think I just have to lift that mylar and attempt to clean and restore the playfield. I’ve read vid1900’s guide at least 4 times, but that doesn’t change my fear of the unknown. I know the second I see some paint come off, I’m going to have a mild heart attack.
I just pulled my mylar recently and the only thing that got damaged was "the sun" graphics.
Found a decal online and installed a playfield protector.
https://www.playfield-protectors.com/22/Playfield-Protectors
My only advice is to use a cold spray not canned air.
https://www.amazon.com/MG-Chemicals-Super-Spray-Aerosol/dp/B005DNQXI2/ref=sr_1_5
And be prepared for many, many nights of adhesive removal.
Quoted from Aniraf:Why use this over the upside down canned air? Is it just colder?
Significantly colder and easier to use.
The upside down can of air would not get the Mylar to release from the playfield, the freeze can had it popping off easy.
I purchased the small can first and that was just not enough, get the big can.
Quoted from jibmums:I'm trying to decide whether to keep mine as I bought it, or switch to the two mini-rubbers.
When I received mine machine it had the larger rubber like the right pic. I would think with the smaller rubbers the odds of a shooter lane return is too high and you could just focus more on ramp - shooter lane - vortex shots for bigger score.
Be interesting to see how most are setup.
Quoted from matt1999:The picture on the rights looks like all the posts are metal?
https://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=319
Those might be the clear plastic ones and the usual metal mini posts. ??
Quoted from jibmums:Did you keep the larger ring or convert to two mini-rubbers?
I kept the one large ring.
Quoted from jdoz2:Anyone got and spare plastics they are willing to part with?
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/freeplay40-ramps/page/48#post-4447114
Looks like some may be produced soon.
Quoted from statictrance:I've sent them out to a few people out here
I have one installed and it works great !
Quoted from chaskett:Pinball Life mouth light baffle:
I have this mounted and it does make the animation better.
My backboard was warped a bit, I used some black tape to seal the baffle to the board.
Quoted from chaskett:What does everyone think?
I think I need to see the new ramps in place with the flashers working. My fear is the flashers are going to shine through the transparent blue and red portions too much.
The vinyl black out portions might need to be bigger around the flashers to cut down any bleed though. ???
Really need to see one installed to be sure.
Quoted from chaskett:Thoughts?
I think that would look fantastic with the colored ramps.
Quoted from arcademojo:tweaked the eye kick outs so they drop right to the flippers and not SDTM.
Is there a adjustment for this? Or just bend the kicker a bit ?
Mine has an odd kick out for the right eye - comes pretty close down the middle.
Thx.
Quoted from gutz:Can anyone confirm on their machine if the face flashers stay on during multiball, then stay on when multiball ends
Not in front of my machine but I found this video on YouTube and it shows what you are talking about.
Quoted from dmcinnes:I have the exact same problem, I just need this piece. I’ve found it for sale here:
http://www.pinball.center/en/shop/pinball-parts/playfield-parts/plastics/8963/plastic-9-for-pin-botThough it’s a German company and they don’t ship directly to the US. However there are companies that will forward packages so I’ve been considering it. Unfortunately that makes it rather pricey, something like $50USD, so I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Pinball-mods.com can order items from pinball center and greatly reduce the shipping.
Pinside user ZITT runs pinball-mods and can give details.
Quoted from lecter:I guys! I'm thinking about cleaning the playfield of my PINBOT. I've read Vid's Guide referred to this topic and I found out that the best cleaner for it is VM&P Naphta manufactured by Klean Strip.
I my country there's not possible to buy the procucts of this supplier that's why I need to ask you for advice.
In my country I'm able to buy product called "Nafta" which is used for cleaning tools, for traditional lamps (it's flammable) etc. It is petroleum product and smells terrebly. Do you think this is the same product and it's safe for my playfield?
Manufactures guide states :
What is the difference between naphtha and VM&P naphtha?
Essentially, this chemical is a petroleum solvent that is going to be somewhat comparable to paint thinner. However, the big difference is that VM&P Naphtha is going to be more volatile and it also dries much faster. It is going to produce a more sweeter smell than most would be accustom to.
Quoted from Tomass:Has anyone actually gotten to the sun with the game setup normally
No, I don't even try..
Quoted from fabsj82:is there something specific that would make a relay act this way?
The video is marked as private, cant view it.
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Has anyone installed the mirrored mini-playfield
I have a mirrored one and you cant really tell its mirrored during game play.
Its aging perfectly fine.
Quoted from spblat:Is this playfield too clean for a hardtop?
Quick touch up and maybe put a playfield protector on it.
Quoted from Croppie1Kenobi:Want to replace the speaker fabric on the front. Anyone find some that is close to original?
I used this and was very happy with the appearance.

Quoted from Toine79:Where can I find the black speaker tissu?
Mine is broken?
https://www.parts-express.com/mellotone-premium-black-speaker-grill-cloth-yard-64-wide--260-332
Quoted from Toine79:Could somebody help me with a picture of his Pinbot for thus specific area?
My tear down pics looks about the same.
PinBot-Original (19) (resized).JPGQuoted from Toine79:Could you share me your teardown pictures?
PM sent.
Quoted from Toine79:You removed mylar or kept it on the playfield?
I did but I would not recommend it unless necessary.
Quoted from WhiskeyTango:Does anyone know what I can use?
Search for Crafting Tape or Washi Tape and find something pretty close.
Its been years but I think this is what I used and it was in store stock so I could look at it.

Quoted from DuffysArcade:mylar without damaging the artwork underneath.
The pop rings might take some more paint with them.
I think these colored Mylar pieces were made with this in mind.
Quoted from pacman11:Anyone have a picture of the green/violet wires going to the drop targets on left side?
I'll try to get a pic later but here is the basic drop wiring.
pinbot (resized).JPGQuoted from themotherbrain:I ended up buying a set of translucent target blades from pinball-mods.com and they are identical.
Did I miss a pic of these installed ?
Or can you post a pic of the new targets installed ?
Thanks.
Looking for the part number for the multiplier lamp socket, its a tall three tab socket that's used all over.
Is there a list of all the sockets used ?
Thanks.
Quoted from Morinack:Probably do the trick.
That's what I was guessing too.
Thanks for the input.
Quoted from Wharhed:massive gaps on the sides of the backglass
I need to push my glass all the way to the left and I end up with a gap on the right.
Used some adhesive back foam from the hardware store to fill in the gap from behind in line with the wood support, looks fine now.

Quoted from dr_spidey:anyone has a list of all the coil sleeves?
Here is a list of coils from the manual, I guess you can find the sleeve info from this.
list (resized).JPGQuoted from Skidave:Can anyone share the wiring for the 8 lamps in the topper?
Some older pics from this forum.
