White gi bulbs from comet today. I HATE the red/blue ones in there now.
Which ones look good? Frosted?

Normally I use the sunlight frosted for 90% of the game I install LEDs in. That is all except for space games. I think the cool white frosted give it a cleaner space look.

Quoted from Tomass:

I prefer frosted. I think they have 3 levels of brightness and I go with the middle (sun?) But that is personal preference.

Quoted from FLASHBALL:

I agree with Tomass I really like the look of the comet 2smd sunlight frosted. Just bright enough to not be yellow and also that its not completely blinding when exposed.

I'm three wires away from finishing fixing up pinbot. Could someone post some pictures of the wiring on the right side inlane and outlane? I've got two green/red wires that I assume connect to the inlane switch (color is correct to manual). Then I have a yellow wire connected to the outlane switch. I'm assuming that this should also be a green/red wire and connect to the inlane switch?

Ok so only had the machine for 2 days and I have some questions. All my displays are not working but game plays. I was wondering a few things.

Online I see that Jupiter always flickers, what is the significance of this ?

Who sells a good decal set ? I’m going to cut a new uppermost cap section that goes above the visor on the laser table and I need a sticker for the new one.

If you reach jupiter it is a special "free credit"

I think i should spend more time getting intimate with the manual. This is prob noted in the black and white lol.

None of your displays are working? If so, check F1 on the power supply before you do anything else? F1 is the high voltage fuse that supplies power to the displays.

If some of your displays are working, that is going to be a different problem.

Quoted from GRUMPY:

Check the diode for this lamp.

I bought the multimeter and check this diode. Something seems to be wrong with this diode. Can you advise me what is the specs of this element? What kind of diode should I look for and buy?

I explain my problem:
The problem referred to the 5x5 grid has occurred - one of LED's lights stopped shining. I checked the LED lamp and found everything is fine with it.

#3869 27 days ago

I get these, since they can be used in a lot of places. You could also get the 1N4004.

These can be used for any 1n400x diode on the game, so buy one kind and done.

Make sure your DMM is set to DC volts and the black lead is on ground. Then test pins 3 and 4 for voltage.

Hi guys! Just picked up a nice pinbot last week w/full topside tear flip rebuild etc.
A couple quick questions.

It came with a good translite, was pinbot originally run w/both translite and black glass?

Did CPR run pfs and plastics etc on this one recently? Other than a chipped plastic near visor I’m ok, but was just curious.

Plays great- Thanks for input!

Pinbot only came with a translite. It's very well done and looks like a screened glass. CPR does have a screened glass, but that's not factory.
Not sure when they did playfields, but CPR has plastics available now.

Looking for rear plastic helmet that goes over blue ramp and multi-ball robot. Also 2nd player display and wire form ramp from upper playfeild to right in lane

Anyone have a spare right hand control room plastic? My machine is missing this one piece and I'd rather not buy a whole set just to get this one piece.

My game is having some sounds issues. Seems like overlapping sounds and static on occasion. I replaced all of the caps on the sound board and it doesn't happen as often but it still happens. Any suggestions? Thanks

#3884 6 days ago

When i got the machine i knew something was done as a fix from the previous owner but it was difficult to see exactly what it was. Looks like road signs can be repurposed into pinball replacement parts. Put some new plastics on yesterday, its nice to see the eye socket light show properly again.

The board in the backbox that looks like this. Are your capacitors old? Have they ever been replaced? What is your voltage at the test points?

Has anyone installed the mirrored mini-playfield that’s on eBay? How does it look on the game? How has it held up after hundreds or thousands of plays? Is it worth the asking price?

I have it installed in my game with a black Jack*Bot ramp. It is a personal taste thing. These were made by CPR a couple different times and are top quality. You can get the normal issue one for about 1/2 price from their website.

I have a mirrored one and you cant really tell its mirrored during game play.
Its aging perfectly fine.

Hey Everyone
Just got myself a pinbot over the weekend. My 7 year old son is doing his best to single handedly double the number of plays on the thing. What a great game.

Question - someone replaced all the displays with pinscore ones, not sure how long ago. They're working well except the top row of displays won't show the bottom right diagonal segment in any of the digits...in other words, Rs look like Ps (JUPITER looks like JUPITEP)

I suspect a faulty ribbon cable but before I go troubleshooting, thought I'd check with you all and see if you've experienced this and could suggest a likely root cause.

#3898 6 hours ago

Have you tried re-seating the ribbon cable on that display? Mine was acting up the other and doing that corrected the problem.

#3899 39 minutes ago

I swapped ribbons around and that worked. I think I just need new ribbons. Not urgent. Game needs some cosmetics but is actually playing great.
