While installing the NVRAM, I cracked the component "B". Can anyone tell me what it is? they are all over the board. I have looked at the manual online, but the scan is pretty bad, especially the board and component pages. I red arrowed the part in question. Looks kind of like a resistor, but not quite, and usually they are all "R". Thanks for any and all help..

Its a chip capacitor. Probably a .01 uF. They smooth the power supplied to the chip.

It may work without it, or it may cause random errors on the chip if not replaced.

The shape on that one is different, shouldn't be a concern, how can I verify that the value is correct? They do shave some very faint stripes on them. Also does anyone have one that they might be able to send me, I don't think I can place a $.03 order.

The value is written on them but it is VERY small.

Should be a .01 uf--in any case a .01 will get the job done. Here's the axial version.

Note 17 on the BOM in the manual:
"CAPACITOR .01 MFD - BYPASS (B) 55 CAPACITORS"

The 100v version on the page Terry linked to above will work just fine.
