Well this is not a high end restoration But cabinet is getting artwork restoration, new PF, some electrical work.
The restoration has a price limit so i suppose in the end it will be a middle of the road restoration in my eyes. I suppose would be pretty good to most.013 (2).JPG013 (2).JPG004 (2).JPG004 (2).JPG005.JPG005.JPG036.JPG036.JPG037.JPG037.JPG038.JPG038.JPG039.JPG039.JPG040.JPG040.JPG044.JPG044.JPG045.JPG045.JPG

The cabinet had plenty of planking lol fortunately it wasnt raised yet and most all the loose stuff pealed away. look at earlier pics there is plenty of missing paint.
Cabinet repaint wasnt supposed to be part of the job but something had to get done or the paint wouldnt have lasted long esp being put back into service.
But honestly if i were to do it again i would have sanded the whole shit down and just restenciled prolly would have been less work.

#14 10 years ago

Alot depends on what type of paint you use as well, i suspect you used Shaker cans with the stencils?

#16 10 years ago

Im not sure honestly dont know if they are closed yet havnt talked to the owner about it for awhile. But last time he said hes pulling all the games out of the shark club its getting a complete remodel and overall change in business into a high end resturant-microbrewery.
And all machines will be at a new location in brighton i think they call it The Arcade this way he can expand up to 100 video + 100 pins.
He pulled the rest of his restoration machines he wants them like yesterday and i can only do them so fast, i guess he has a resource over there can build new cabinets with artwork for $400 each and has 3 local restorers that can do machines in a month or less each. He has a guy that can hook him up with complete sets of new boards for $200 a machine.
i cant compete with that I told him to take em they are wrapped and wait for NAVL to pick em up. i am curious on who does the cabinets and supplies the boards this cheap though i think rottendog charges 2x that price. and decals or stencils cost $150 to $300 alone unless there is some resource i havnt heard about lol.

For $200 ide gladly save myself the work $150 for stencils is fine but using automotive paints still dont think i can compete with $400. And i wont use any fibershit cabinets they need to be true plywood

#20 10 years ago

Do they have a website? i looked into some new cabinets before and they seemed to be around $800 a piece on the site i found.

#23 10 years ago

Thanks Vid it appears they dont have any SS Bally cabinets I seem to need the most but seems like a good deal for williams sys 11 and up cabinets ill have to keep them in mind

They come up pretty often here in wisconsin and the neighboring states i like this one now to the point i might need to build another one for myself lol.
i wish i could get replacement decals for it as well if you find one make sure all the stickers are nice and it has every part is present and dont build one until new plastics can be purchased again.

I must admit, I am kinda digging that prismatic stuff. Where do you get that? Nice colors going on with everything, post LEDs, etc... It looks very nice...Great job.

Thanks yeah it was alot of work but it has turned out to be a real eye catcher now. it should earn alot of $$ for the owner . the acrylic pieces were a bit of a pain to reproduce but turned out to be a beefier upgrade to the old ones.

I usualy deal with this guy for all my vinyl stuff has good prices and he ships fast with a good variety of colors and patterns. ebay.com link: paperstreetplastics
