Pinbot
Williams, 1986Ok, I thought LED's took less power than incandescents? I'm replacing my pinbot's backbox incandescents with Comet Twin SMD 2835's and I'm part-way through and suddenly the top half of all the lights aren't working.
Also I replaced the left and right flashers and they are on 100% of the time. In the solenoid test it looks like they're crossed with several things - the knocker and a few others.
What have I done?

There's a board with several cement resistors where the backbox lights are. Is this what you mean?
Check out the following with regard to the flashers. If you LED them, you’ll need to either remove the resistors or the ground. I just did this on mine and opted for removing the 330 ohm resistors.

The eyes in pinbot in the playfield need to be 28v bulbs.
Or you can solider a 330ohm resistor across them. And use #89 LEDs.
Also you need to cut the ground wire off all the resistor boards. For the LEDs to work properly in all system 11 pins.
It seems wierd but just cut the wires labeled ground close to the board. Or desolider them. And it will fix the flashers.
And as far a 1/2 going out. You maybe blew a fuse or are causing a short because of a bad socket that shorts because of the tight fit of LEDs. Compared to incandescent.
