Not to revive a 4 month old thread, but as a new owner of a LOTR who just purchased this same plastics set, I'm having the same problem. My Gimli protector, however, is very loose. I just ordered some clear museum gel in the hopes that I can put a dab of it in each corner of the protector and have it stay. Will update with the results once done.
