Here are pictures from PinballSTAR Amusement's visit to Jersey Jack Pinball's factory in NJ yesterday to pick up our showroom Hobbit. I will say I've been to the factory plenty of times over the last 4 years and this was by far the most activity, number of people, amount of games in process, games finished, parts stocked up I have ever seen. Tons of games on the line and tons of them on the final testing line. To say the Hobbit is full steam ahead is an understatement.

I had an hour long conversation with Jack on the drive down about just about everything and got to meet the new CEO, Joe Harper in person and have some time to chat with him about the future of the company. Both conversations left me excited and extremely confident in both the business aspects and the pinball future for JJP. Went home with a stunning Hobbit LE and a few extra WOZ75's.

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures and the inside look at all the good stuff that is happening at JJP. Congrats to Jack and the entire team in both NJ and Chicago !

PinballSTAR Amusements is an authorized JJP distributor and we have WOZ Standards and WOZ 75ths IN STOCK and of course are taking orders for the Hobbit LE Limited Editions and Hobbit Smaug Golds and we are still selling from our Day 1 allotment. Contact us for your best pricing.

Excellent pictures!

#12 8 years ago

Thanks for sharing, Joe!

They look Amazing! Love the hammered powder coat!

Lots of very lucky, happy people soon!

#13 8 years ago

Did you see any reinforced ramps to alleviate everyone's greatest fears?

#14 8 years ago

The hammered powdercoating on the LEs was INCREDIBLE. So much better than whatever was on prior proto games I had at shows. So nice. If it was ugly if say so, ok, probably not, ; ), but it really was sweet. Blends perfectly.

I also got to see the rad cal decals on s game for first time. Also very nice and takes it up a notch. Well worth the upgrade. There are some pics above, I should have taken the plastic film off, duh.

Now that's a picture review. Thanks Joe!

Every SINGLE game has reinforced ramps. Yes they fixed them all. Extra welds and a support bracket added on both sides. They are solid. I have a video... I was trying to bend, move it, not a budge in it, solid as a rock. That's why games went out on test for 2 months. While that was going on nearly 100 games were built in various stages. A little extra weight but it was worth it. Trucks will be rolling out frequently.

Posted the video of me trying to move the ramp to our Facebook page - on my phone didn't see how I could upload a video to Pinside so put it there... It may not look like I'm using a lot of force with one or two fingers, but I was really pushing it hard... I was satisfied, it's solid. They put an extra bracket on the outer side of each ramp. Solid.

The wiring loom looks the size of a shop vacuum hose. 'Never seen that on a pin.

Thanks for the pics!

Can you comment on decal process, which I saw stacks of them laying flat? Are they peel and stick on without adding any adhesive? How do they stay in place and are they simple to swap out?

Those were Rad Cal decals. Quite sure they are peel and stick but not sure as I did not see them adding them so not sure of the additional adhesive. I would imagine they are fairly simple to remove with a head gun to melt the glue then reapply new ones if that's what you are thinking - but can't imagine why you'd want to swap them once on.

No doubt man! JJP knows how to make a beautiful pin. And they are both a ton of fun to play! I am very impressed with these two pins.

#33 8 years ago

Excellent pics and very interesting! Thanks! The Hobbit still needs a topper though. Goronic has the right idea for that.

#34 8 years ago

Sitting here full of anticipation. I'll be at TPF Friday, Saturday and Sunday; then my Hobbit Smaug Gold arrives the following week!

#35 8 years ago

Great pics Joe, thanks!!

#36 8 years ago

Thanks for sharing the pics Joe

#37 8 years ago

Thanks Joe for the pics. Everyone is right, JJP can make a pinball. Can't wait to get my hobbit.

Game looks cool. Can't wait to play one.

Quoted from calprog:

I was worried it wouldn't play well based on some feedback I was getting before I went. But I really enjoyed playing it - very happy with my order. Now I am REALLY getting jazzed up about getting it.

Guys, these pictures don't do it justice at all. It is like taking a picture of the beach, and actually standing on the beach. You just can't appreciate how good it looks.

#41 8 years ago

I played it again tonight at Silverball Museum in Asbury Park. Looks like they increased the flipper strength again.

Definitely plays a lot better with increased flipper strength. Game definitely felt a lot less floaty than when I first played it.

From an art aspect, it gets an A+ all the way. Easily one of the best looking playfields ever crafted.

On a side note, the one at Silverball doesn't have washers protecting the slings. It is a test machine, not sure if all future machines have them installed. I put the clear ones on all of my machines, just something to think about.

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing! Very happy for all TH owners...
Hope to see one nearby. Can't wait to play this one!

amazing detail....can't help but think of Django when i see those wax stamps
