Find out what the freakin' holdup is with CGC. Which parts are the ones they're having supply issues with.

Visit to Chicago Gaming / Churchill Cabinets...

Great hosts Doug Skor and Doug Duba... What a historical building for pinball... As they explain basically most every pinball machine made for decades started its life in this factory - cabinets and playfields.

Neat to see the PF screening room with only 2 stations and finding out the screening of multiple colors for one PF to be made can take 5 days. For now, still the same manual process used years ago ! Very neat ! Amazing how much wood is on this place - the factory is 125,000 sq feet ! They do Arcade Legends contract work for Raw Thrills.

The million dollar question : YES games are shipping and production seems to be ramping up to larger numbers per week. They are at about 350-400 of the 1000 LE's. Everyone who has an LE on order should be seeing your game soon ! It is a priority to these folks to get games out the doors in larger numbers.

PinballSTAR are distributors for Planetary Pinball / Chicago Gaming's for Medieval Madness Remake. We are selling Standard MMRs $ 8,000. Contact Joe at [email protected].

Stay tuned for more Expo updates ! Happy to be the eyes and ears of those who can't be here. And to show you some stuff you won't see even if you were. : )

Interesting tidbit is 20% of all PFs get rejected after all that work screening and clearing ! They have 2 people that all they do is check finished PFs.

#26 8 years ago

So what do they do with the rejected playfields?

Sand and re-screen?

I thought Stern was assembling the MMRs? Did I misunderstand that?

Yes, Stern 'Assembles' pinball machines. Technically speaking Stern designs and assembles, but does not manufacture.

They absolutely manufacture machines. There's almost no manufacturer that manufactures every component. Most manufacturers of complex machines sub out many assemblies.

Awesome!! Thanks for posting Joe!

#32 8 years ago

Was that a Game of Thrones playfield?

Very cool, I would love to check that place out.

Did you notice the GOT mini PFs cut 6 to one slab of wood ?

I can tell you that they started it was pretty much done or close to done and the showroom game was the test machine for the color. They were very excited and proud of it. Should be a great enhancement. As far as expo I'm not sure.

Nice pics. So they ship everything to Stern and Stern puts it together?

Exactly what I was thinking. NIB smell everywhere!!!!!

Great pics! Thanks for posting.

Cabinets and PFs built at Churchill sent to Stern, Stern builds / assembles / manufactures / boxes then back to Chicago Gaming to ship. CG wanted to control the shipping. There are 3/4 runs PER DAY back and forth, a 45 min drive one way ! Keep in mind that is also for Stern games as well, not just MMR...

Keep asking questions I tried to absorb as much info as I can but the questions like this are bringing tidbits to light... Happy to share with everyone.

Thanks for the fast reply. I'm in Chicago too and we should both be sleeping! So how many MMR's are getting shipped a day?

Sleep at Expo ? That's messed up, bitch.

I don't know I know they said they sent a full truck out yesterday. I'm sure it varies some days a few some lots more with them looking to average so many per week. The overall impression I continue to get is that things from this day forward will continue, as they have been, to ramp up speed-wise. There was ALOT going on there, I suspect in the morning you'll see plenty at Stern in process too. It's good stuff.

The process has been slow yes, but an interesting discussion point we had was the very limited number of tech calls on games shipped. Except for the early sling kicker the mechanics and software / boards are working great. As a distributor I can attest that just about every single game I've had has had ZERO issues. In the long run, that's most important.

...and definately plans for more games !
