We're back!

After a disaster in our datacenter took down our server, we are now running Pinside on a brand new server. However, things may not work as expected as we are still polishing the playfield and adjusting some switches! We might be switching to maintenance mode a few times. Please see this forum topic for more info.

PinballSTAR has purchased a church in the Wilkes Barre / Scranton, PA area for use with our pinball distributor business.

We are removing 20 pews and wondering if any pinball friends or locations may need / want any. They are 15 feet long, solid oak, in IMMACULATE (no pun intended) condition. I'm looking to move them out quickly so we may begin work in the building so offering to Pinside friends for the stupid price of $ 200 each, take more I'll wheel and deal. What man cave doesn't need some church pews. Take one, cut it in half and voila you have 2 smaller ones !

Put them in your gameroom, put them in your location, put them in your front yard if you need people to talk to...

Rent a uhaul truck and come and get them. Buyer must pick up. I may have someone to refer to you who would deliver a few at a time depending on where you are... We are 2 hours north of Philadelphia and 2 hours west of New York City.

Interested - PM me here on Pinside or email me at Sales@PinballSTAR.com (preferred as I can reply quicker that way).

We also are looking to move out cheaply - a Fisher Piano, an Organ, some coat racks, chairs...

These will also be listed for sale locally.

    Pictures in comments below...

    ...and yes I AM nuts

Call it the Church of Pinheads and operate tax-free. Isn't that what half the so-called "real" churches do?

    #4 1 year ago

2 hours east of new York City? Quick, turn those in to a boat!

    #5 1 year ago

Maybe just donate that stuff and earn some good karma. There’s got to be a local school that would love that piano.

The organ on the other hand - sometimes costs $$ to get rid of those...

Very cool, congrats! My sister and fiancee bought a church and turned it into a house. Came out great. Still get lots of people that will just walk in the front door if it's unlocked. They have a chalk board on the wall with a bunch of quotes from surprised people.

Was it some popular church or do people walk into random churches often??

Man, if that organ is built in, convert it to midi and have it rock out!

I guess there are some people that just like to check out churches. I assume all the locals must know it's no longer active. Most of the parking lot is gone now, so that might cut down on the visitors. It's also on a pretty quiet road, so they don't get a ton of people passing by.

Organs and church pews are Free on Craigslist very often due to weight and size- and often directly from churches in the spirit of giving...

Now thru Christmas, free pew with every pin purchase!!!

    That's the 1/2 of it... : )

If I was OCD and mapped it out I'd say it would fit 189 / 172 comfortably... That's only if I was OCD and already mapped that out. : )

I'm trying to NOT go to hell, I think the fact I bought a Gorgar the day I signed the sales agreement (not kidding) might have me 1/2 way there... please don't help me more... : )

Put a star on top of the steeple that lights up at night. Wise men from far and wide will bring riches. Maybe even a pinball industry savior will emerge.

I will not help you move your organ Joe.
Congrats on church, you had mentioned this a few months back.
How does a church go out of business?

Same way as anything else, people stop showing up.

There seems to be a new church with a new gimmick every day. At PAX East (Largest video game convention) I go to every year there’s been this “Game Church” that hands out “Gamer Bibles” and it has Jesus with an Xbox controller and headset saying “Jesus FTW” (for the win)
They were always really nice, but I found the whole concept super funny.

There are so MANY different versions of Christianity alone, not all of them can survive. Kinda like Sears and Kmart, new things come out, new ways of doing the same timeless things that replace old institutions!

That’s as CLOSE to the rules as I will run. Other than I sincerely look forward to the next person who can incorporate pinball into a religion akin to the FSM

I got 20 pews once in a bundle deal. Sold a couple for $20 to recoupe my cost then donated the rest to our local hockey arena. Always feels good to give back whenever possible.

You could use the oak from the pews for a Fire! Champagne Edition Remake.

Some of the above comments got me thinking...

If anyone has a charitable organization you are involved in. - church, fire department, children’s organization, etc... that may put these to good use send them my way. If I can confirm it is legit I’d be happy to consider donating any of these items to a worthy cause that can use them.
