Likely a silly question, but does the chrome plating process affect the spring steel flaps on the ramps?

Can you show the difference between black nickel and black chrome? One looks like it's just really deep black powder coat or high-gloss paint. I keep getting the two mixed up.

Not sure if this is a trade name or not, but can you do parts in "neochrome"? I could see this working well with more colorful games like GOTG for example.
