Quoted from Atari_Daze:

Got my Bally Atlantis parts finally sent to Chris for brass plating, check here for pics later!

I can't remember if I told you but I have sets of siderails made for these being made right now in steel to add to our inventory for plating. Got your wireforms and stuff, hope to have the new siderails in the next couple of months so we can do some sets for those 3 or 4 ballys that have that crazy 51.5 length siderails.

Quoted from Gritty:

Tron looks awesome all chromed out. Does anyone have any pictures of early SS games that were powdercoated you can share?

Thanks! We do a lot of chrome for Trons, especially on LEs that people have as the Stern chrome was junk compared to what we do etc.

#652 5 years ago

Just added to the site: SAFE CRACKER Lockbars in chrome for exchange.
We already offered our new steel plated siderails for Safe Cracker, and now you can send your lockbar in and exchange it at the same time of buying rails.
You can see it here: http://www.pinballplating.com/quick-exchange-parts/safe-cracker-lockbar

Trying to add more of the stuff we have started offering but never gotten on the site. Will do my best to update those things here.
Hope everyone is doing fantastic!

Are the same rails as on my Jackbot?

Quoted from MustangPaul:

Are the same rails as on my Jackbot?

Paul,
All our other new rails are here, I thought you bought some for it? Maybe that was your Star Trek?
http://www.pinballplating.com/available-parts/

#655 5 years ago

I did buy your chrome rails for my Jackbot, I was just wondering if those were the same as my Jackbot rails.

#656 5 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

No we had to have these custom made out of steel so we could carry them plated - they only fit Safe Cracker. Those and the lockbar for it are specific to it only.
Good question, and the truth is, the length is the only difference otherwise

CONTEST TIME!

Let’s have a little fun. First person to guess the part gets a free shirt!
The part: No it’s not usually chrome, that’s just what we did to it.
We need the manufacturer and where it’s located on the machine. I mean, this should be easy, all of you know everything there is to know about pinball, right?

Ahhh, that would be in the coin door on a late EM or SS Bally machine. Its held in when the coil is energized (game powered on), to accept coins. When the game is off, the coins get automatically rejected.

Is this part remanufactured, or is this an original that you plated? They seemed to make them out of a very flimsy material.

Daane, you my friend, are CORRECT!!!
This is one of those flimsy originals that we plated for a customer. He did what I call a kitchen sink order - pretty much everything in the game that is metal got plated. Not a cheap job, and it drives our guys nuts to do them, but show stopping nonetheless.
So send me what size shirt you need and where you want it

Awesome. Thanks Chris.

Set of rails we did for a customer/friend, these go on a old pitch and bat, we also did the buttons. They are rough, and are not perfect but still much better than they were. Glad to help he and his dad get this stuff done as his dad is not doing well and it was a project they were both into together.
Game on!

Thanks, fellas, I always appreciate the encouragement. I just have to make myself do the posts. Stuff comes and goes here all the time, but trying to be better about taking pictures and getting things on the site too. I have so many things that I've had for a while now that have never made it to the site. Trying to make myself post up one or two new things each night. Little by little, right?

Look! People commenting on my thread, lol. Seriously, I do love the interaction and it's nice to know someone is looking!

Thank you all for your kind words! I really do appreciate it. I really am trying to be daddy more these days than I've been in the past. I'm guilty of working all the time, and I don't want to miss my kids growing up. It's a tough balance, and I appreciate the encouragement in that.
AND, HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all of you dads out there too!

I'll post some more stuff this week, I do expect this to be a busy week as I'm taking vacation the two weeks after to go be husband and daddy
Blessings everyone!

I wasn't going to post a pic, as I don't usually advertise that I do this, because I hate doing them, lol. It's a bit of "artistic chance" as to how well they turn out, but I did take a pic, so here ya go. Really should have took a pic of the after powder before paint - they look weird plain after we've seen them this way for all these years.

Also, what he's not telling you is that I sent him a chrome one I had in stock as an exchange, not realizing he wanted it redone as original. So he had to send that one back and was great about the whole thing. By the time I realized what was going on his was in plating, so I pulled one from one of my own games to do for him. Pays to have a warehouse of parts at my disposal sometimes, lol.

I just ran across this thread and realized I picked up a business card from your booth at Grand Ole Gameroom Expo in Nashville last year. I should have asked this question then but we were in a bit of a rush...Do you use a chemical process for your chrome or electro plating? Just curious...and do you do business in person or just via mail?

I've got a Demo Man on the way and a set those newly chromed handles are on my list of improvements.

Thanks for doing what you do

Our guys use electroplating, and I'm perfectly fine if you wanted to come by sometime, assuming you are close enough to do so. I'm just north of Nashville about 15 miles. If you wanted to bring your Demo Handles we could exchange them right here
Glad to help if I can, feel free to call or email.

Haha Chris I was going to keep that our secret but since you volunteered the info. You were also awesome through the whole process and I thank you for it. Now you just screwed yourself because next year when I tear down my Addams family guess who I am calling. You will get the chrome work too.

We can do it. I have Mike's old rivet press. We've done a few of them. Only thing is, you may want to reblue them or buy new ones since they are pretty worn, as they won't look so great against that nice chrome. Just a thought, and totally your call.
