This thread is very informative and I have learned a great deal about the watch hobby via these pages. No real great ones here, a nice g shock and citizen eco drive. I have been impressed with the quality and mostly the durability of both to take a beating. I would scratch the mess out of any nice watch hence I don't have one.

Again thanks for sharing

Quoted from JONESDS:

Trying to figure out if this rally strap, I usually have on my speedy, works with this old 16013.

to your question both work but I like the metal band better

Love watches but not into high end ones, rather buy a pinball.

Picked this one up for 200 on eBay it was like brand new with tags and originally retailed for 895 so very happy

I bought two other ones that had to be returned before I finally got one that matched the description. Buying watches can be extremely annoying on there. Third time is a charm.

Amazing watch for the price it's accuracy is unparralled

I guess I don’t get the whole Rolex thing

Are people buying them as investments to flip later?
As heirlooms to their kids?

I get limited markets but just seems really crazy to spend double retail for a watch. Is it going to appreciate that fast?

I’m wondering if the market has always been this hot or is this a new upswing since Covid?

They are neat watches. Probably the best made. Is that why they demand such a premium or is just a trendy thing now?

Quoted from Desmodromic:

The point about being careful is a good one but that's just a good general rule. Look flashy and you're going to need to be a bit more aware.
A relationship with an AD really helps when it comes to purchases. A friend at an AD helped me with a new Datejust 41 Wimbledon dial earlier this year. I wasn't asked to make any additional purchases but I ended up buying a nice new anniversary ring for my wife at the same time. You know things have gotten wild when there's a wait to buy a Datejust!
