Quoted from HeyYouSir:

Invicta Pro Diver watch. My first Invicta. Not perfect, but very affordable.

The 8926OB is awesome too. Sub-like, and you don't have to worry about beating it up or paying $1,000 every time you service it. Just trash it and get another...

The Invicta Speedway series is great too if you want the Daytona look. People trash Invicta for some of their ridiculous designs and inflated MSRPs but at the end of the day, they're a pretty decent value.

Picked up a Seamaster 300M. My first Omega.

Lookin’ good! I just picked up my first Omega too, to celebrate my 35th birthday. I’m a 90s kid, so I had to go with the Goldeneye era Seamaster 300. Reminds me of simpler times.

Quoted from Orko:

Question for all of you watch aficionados. I’m wanting to buy my dream watch which is a Rolex. I’ve been looking for the GMT-Master II Oyster, 40MM in oystersteel. Every dealer I’ve looked at wouldn’t put me on a list unless I lived in that respective state. And the local Chicago authorized dealers will only put you on a list of you buy “other jewelry” which I just found out today was a banable offense by Rolex, S it goes against there policy. Does Anyone know how a pleb like me can get one? I’ve included a picture of the exact one I want.

Buy from a trusted, highly reputable Grey dealer (DavidSW, Bobswatches, Crown & Caliber, etc). You’ll pay a premium above retail, but prices have been slowly inching towards retail in the last few months. It’s likely that premium you’ll pay would be similar to what an authorized dealer would encourage you to spend on junk jewelry to “build a relationship” and be considered to purchase that watch at retail. Nobody should have to lick an employee’s ass just to buy a watch, and there’s no guarantee you would even get a call. Your time, dignity and effort are worth something and life is short, so it’s justifiable to buy grey in my opinion. I did it with my Submariner and while I hate the way Rolex does business, unfortunately those are the breaks.

Quoted from Astropin:

Who's? You said "pawn shop".

You can have it verified by a Rolex Authorized Dealer but don’t expect them to give you a warm reception if you just want to use them to authenticate a watch. eBay has an authenticity guarantee where your purchase is sent by the seller to an independent third party authenticator after sale. If it fails, you get your money back. I’ve used it twice with no problems. Also, in my experience, if the watch does not include box and papers (which can still be forged btw), some dealers will offer their own COA and appraisal upon request. Remember, it’s the dealers reputation on the line. So always be confident in the dealer/seller first.
