It's not really hard to do a battery change if you have the correct tools. Don't even consider a plyers and screwdriver repair. For show watches of average value I would do it no question with many videos online to guide you. For high end Omega, Rolex, etc that are pressure tested and gasket sealed it would be wise to just bring it in. Most times it would be a good opportunity to get it calibrated and have all the rings changed for a lifetime of ownership. Just my view experience with my Other collection habit other than pinball!

I was going to mention that. The case is nuts.... and I love it. Might use it as a hardside case for my drone!

You caught my interest Astropin! I thought I was the only one on this forum flying a drone as a second addiction hobby. What do you have and do you like it? I am flying a DJI Mavic Pro and loving it so far. Easy to control and pushing it 6 miles round trip seems great so far while filming in 4k. At least drones get me out of the dark basement and into the sun for part of the day! Here's a picture of my watch to stay on topic. lol Omega Speedmaster. There is No substitute!!!! Classic and reliable!

Yep. Complete drone newbie myself and loving the simplicity of this thing. Did some local flights today in the area for lunch fun. Picked up a Titan Cyclone amplified antenna to give it a test in my congested area. Rather fun toy and the technology has come a Long way.

Yeah I know right, but I didn't have a choice. In fact these were kind of a after thought I think since I was told about getting one about a month after my anniversary date was over and then it took another six months for it to finally get to me.

Sad how similar your company is to mine. I find it funny they leave the Price Tag on it to basically show what they think you are worth. lol My company did the same and I asked if I could just have the 375$! lol

Quoted from cincyITguy:

Here is my Omega Aqua Terra. Golf is my other love, so the dimples on the face are super cool to me. Love the strap with bracelet clamp. Wish all of my watches with straps had the same.

Stop temping me with more Omega Porn! My Omega addiction is almost stronger than pinball at this point... Beautiful watch.

Quoted from Tortelvis:

I’ve been wanting an Omega for a long time. Finally picked up this Speedmaster. I remember when collecting pins was cheaper than collecting watches.

Having owned that Awesome Speedy and several others that watch didn't cost That much less than a Pin!! Sadly but for me there is only one....Speedmaster!

Quoted from herbertbsharp:

I just got this cool tactical G-Shock today, but damn, this thing is big. I feel like I'm wearing a microwave! And I tend to like larger watches. I didn't read the specs and thought it was smaller. It will be good for wearing outside of gloves or other layers though.

Ok have to ask, do you have a manican in your house?

#1352 6 years ago
Quoted from chrisnack:

Or do you just have a TINY wrist What size is it?

He has manicans with Axes in his, house! Don’t piss him off! Lol

I received this Rec 901 in the mail yesterday. It was funded by a kickstarter. The watch is made from the metal of a wrecked Porsche 911. It incorporates many design cues from the 911. It also has the VIN of the car the metal came from on the side. The back looks like a fuchs wheel.

Love it!! If your selling it Please PM me. If not do you have a Link to this kickstarter?? Thanks

Nothing? No discount Spring Drives or Marine Master Autos? Or even a bargain Prospex?

Not a snob but the only Seiko watch I ever liked (and purchased) was my Seiko Velatura direct drive in stainless. Kind of a stepping stone to the Speedmaster

#1527 6 years ago
Quoted from VGC1612:

Noob question: How many watch should a man have?At least 3?5?

How many should they Have or How many should they let there wife know they Bought and for how much? Completely different answer. I knew I had a problem when I started ordering watch cabinets! I think my addiction habits started with Pinball.

My wrist is a flat 6.75 inches. It felt like the right size. 36mm was just a little too small.

They said it should be by the 28th at the latest but who knows.
Sterns had recent themes I like but their quality is too hit or miss for me

Rather like the look awesome. Would you consider a PM to let me know what the price was on this? Around our area it literally changes every time I go in the store. Lol. If you would

Quoted from golfingdad1:

Help me out guys, first post here .
I have a 2004 Rolex Submariner oyster/ date / stainless. I need to get a new dial face , I called the local authorized dealer and the answer I got was ...
" we would send your watch to rolex for an estimate that would cost you $1500 for maintenance , then they could tell you how much the replacement dial face would cost, and would take more than 8 weeks .
WTF ? an estimate shouldn't cost me anything, besides it doesnt need to be serviced , it just needs a new dial. So it sounds like for a mere $2k or more I can get a new dial face !?!?, what a crock of shit.
What do i do , options??? I'm looking to sell it .
Thanks

Not a watch expert but companies like OMEGA and Rolex If the case needs to be opened they will only do so if a full service to all gaskets etc are done. To change the face this service would be needed and honestly advised. It Is a tough pill to swallow trust me had to do the same on a Speedy lens replacement.

#1886 3 years ago
Quoted from NicoVolta:

This kind of thing scares me away from Rolex, Omega, etc. Quite a selection of fine watches out there for the price of one servicing... yikes.

Hey! I love my Speedmaster! It’s been to the Moon after all! Lol

I’m not on Pinside much any more, but have enjoyed this thread. So, I blame you guys.....I finally broke down and bought an Omega Seamaster. I’ve always wanted one.....I can finally be in the club
[quoted image]

Congrats. I have always found Omega as the best bang for the buck in quality. I always end up going back to my Speedmaster in the box.

While I realize there are many shortages around the world in manufacturing I was shocked when I went to the local Rolex store this weekend (to look in case my wife is reading) and they had NO watches in the store! None! WTH?? Are they that behind or popular now that they have sold them all or did I just come on the wrong day? lol Kind of laughed as the store was still open with someone behind the counter but Nothing to sell??

#2021 2 years ago
Quoted from NicoVolta:

Rolex plays “artificial scarcity” games. It’s not like they are hand made… it’s clever marketing.

Well maybe but at that location in Oakbrook IL the weekly rent costs as much as a watch so not so sure an Empty store is planned marketing?

Don’t want to be a dick...
But or it’s how the picture is made ,but that looks like a fake iwc
Look @ the 11 and the second diverted hand is not straight

Huh? The second hand is the small dial. The minute hand looks correct?

#2043 2 years ago
Quoted from AMSNL:

The one at the bottom
But the 11 and the 10 are not correct, but it could be me . I’ve been in the watch scene to long and my eyes always triggers some shizzle

Good eye. Always amazes me they can make a 9k watch for $90 and few could even notice. Kills the used market and resale as they are pros at pirating these.

Fun comparo of the diver lineup; left to right is DSSD Blue 44, SD43, and sub date 40.
The Hulk is like gold now days, glad I got one when I did also (although black sub is shown here)

Wow, love that DSSD. Not easy to find one but that would be my choice.
