Quoted from herbertbsharp:It just came in today
Now you have to make sure that the days of the week line up with the correct day. Or learn to pronounce 7 new foreign words.
Quoted from ToucanF16:It’s a limited edition and hard to come by.
Reminds me of this one:
aDAEPAO_700b (resized).jpgAnybody know about these Zinvo Blade/Turbine watches? Looks like they had some problems in the past. They look pretty cool, on the cheap side.
Quoted from Astropin:Me neither
I'll let ya know and post pictures when it comes in....

Stop it! I can only afford One expensive hobby at a time!! Liking that watch though orange is a bold statement.
Anyone have one of these, pretty good looking. Just curious about how they hold up, certainly not an everyday time piece.

DSC_0325_PILOT_FRONT__NEW_EDIT_copy_590x (resized).pngapollo-red-pp_590x (resized).pngAll this talk about watches made me interested in getting one. I haven't worn a watch for a few years, replaced by my cellphone. What do you guys think about the Tissot Heritage 1948 as a starter watch? I don't like gigantic faces as I have small wrists and also wear my watch on my right hand, and I don't like the buttons to dig into my arm.
Watch is about $800ish and i'd like to keep it under $1000. I'm going to try and try one on today if they have one at the watch store.
tissot-1948 (resized).pngThis is a nice list of watches in your price range... https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/best-new-watches-under-1000-dollar-2018

Tissot makes a nice watch.
Hi All. I am offering up my 2016 Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M. Have inner and outer box, bracelet and strap. Watch is in very good condition. I'm open to sale or trades (watch or pinball). I priced at $5500. I'm just north of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Thanks
Aaron
Quoted from aobrien5:Anything to look for in winders? Are they all pretty much the same? Are they noisy?
I have a wolf in my bed room and can not hear it at all.

Winder costs more than my watch. Lol.

I have two Scatolas which are the quietest I own and 3 of the single Wolfs which, while a bit louder, are not objectionable.
However, I bought them because I thought they looked nice. I've been collecting mechanical watches for 25 years and a winder is hardly a necessity.

Thanks. Totally not a necessity, but I'm looking for things to put on my xmas list.
If one we're looking to buy a new or used watch crica 2-5 years old, what would be a good (trustworthy) place to look.
I've been eyeing a month Blanc that's becoming impossible to source.
I've found two, but one is in Germany and one is in the Netherlands. I don't feel comfortable sending that kind of money overseas to a stranger
Any advice?

Triple threat over here
I tried to buy a Rolex last weekend
Sorta
By “tried” I mean “went to look” but based on historical data “went to look” usually ends up as “bought” with anything in life. Except in this case.
It appears Rolex’s don’t actually exist. There’s billboards, magazine ads & a Rolex website full of watches... that don’t exist.
The only stock found were solid gold GMT’s/Subs & the worst combinations of datejusts imaginable. Total turds.
Come to find out authorized Rolex dealers don’t actually sell Rolex’s. You have to go to a scalper or grey market dealer & pay marked up secondary prices to speculators.
Gonna buy Munsters or Maiden to celebrate my 40th instead.
Thanks for reading my life story. I feel better now.

Which model were you looking for? The sports models (Airking/Submariners/GMTs) are always difficult to locate. I think Rolex produces is in a low numbers to keep the prices up. Of course, if you’re looking for an old man’s Datejust, they’re easy to find!

OP 39 white dial. Possibly black dial.
Vs
DJ41 white dial, jubilee bracelet & smooth bezel (all stainless). Maybe dark rhodium dial.
Unless a GMT swayed me otherwise.
I need to see all 3 at once to decide. That appears to be an issue. No worries tho, pinball is better.
Have a winder but don't use it. 2 automatics and not needed. I've noticed that my Seiko can go days in between and the Hamilton runs outuch faster.

As someone who loves watches but lives in the middle of nowhere I feel your pain. However, if you go to Chicago, NYC, LA, San Fran... you can see and try on almost anything that Rolex produces. I agree it’s not fair but the Rolex stores and the major big city watch dealers get all the inventory.
Most of the Rolex sport/tool 904L steel watches are bought up by gray market dealers and flipped for big profits. Many of these watches are heading to China as well. Sport steel watches are all the rage there. You will have an impossible time finding a Hulk sub or Pepsi gmt from an Ad unless you are a VIP customer or you buy other watches or jewellery and "bundle" then these pieces suddenly come out from the back of the store.
PW79 try davidsw or others with a good reputation on the Rolex forum and you will find everything you might want, price is something else of course. Pinball is better.
