My grandfather's old Bulova. I love to wear it. Nice and simple.

Those are 3 great watches. The moon watch has a great history. I read somewhere that the astronauts on Apollo 13 used the stopwatch on the Speedmaster to time the thrusters. I guess they had no electricity or some other problems.

Great pics.

I keep thinking about getting a Rolex.

It sorta pisses me off because I know damn well its a materialistic nouveau riche braggart douche item yet here I am pondering buying one to celebrate my pending 40th.

Maybe I can get it out of my system with that blue turtle. It is damn noiyce.

#1455 6 years ago

You only live once! Do it!

#1456 6 years ago

Just do it. Its something that will be passed down to your children and theirs. You dont seem to have a problem buying big money pins.

Quoted from PW79:

I’m in the same boat. I’ve wanted a Rolex for years, but $8k on a watch is hard to swallow.

I really want an Explorer II with a white face.

Get a nice used one...no one will ever know the difference.

I am looking to get an Omega Speedmaster professional. Jomashop seems to be a good source, any others to consider?

We should just split a boat lol

The price for a Rolex is indeed stupid

The white GMT Explorer is noiyce. It's on my short list actually.

Yeah but so would a $10K mutual fund that grew into $200K in 35 years.

Quoted from fiberdude120:

Agreed but money is only part of the equation. Pins are not a beacon of douchebaggery tho like a Rolex, Ed Hardy shirt, an ascot scarf or those shoes Kaneda wore.

Just buy the damn watch already. You won't regret it.

As an aside, anyone over 12 wearing one of those Hardy shirts looks ridiculous.

Quoted from Astropin:

All the used ones I find seem to be almost as expensive as the new ones. The other problem is that I wouldn't know a fake from one that's authentic.

I did stumble on the Rolex forum. There seems to be some reputable sellers over there if you poke around.

https://www.rolexforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9

This is exactly what I want to buy.

Nice to see so many speedy's in here. I'm wearing my Moonphase today, i wear it most days actually, it's quickly outpaced everything else in my collection as my favorite. It's comfortable and classy.

Yeah that Speedy Moonphase is gorgeous...the detail on the Moon is ridiculous.

If I remember, I'll wear my Omega tomorrow and post a pic....

If I'm dropping $8k on a watch, it sure as hell ain't gonna be a Rolex. "Can you show me to the Breitling counter, please?"

#1486 6 years ago

Lol, well played

But to my defense the new 2018 Odyssey is baller AF.

It’s a got dayum chariot of leather, LCD and moonroof.

Breitling has come a long way, especially with their movements.

The dials are just a bit too busy for me.

I also found most of them too large with the exception of the Bentley mark vi (which I bought). Stock photo but will one day post a pic of some of my watches .... er, time pieces

Have this one on today. I think it's the reason my left bicep is bigger than my right.

What is the history on that one? How long have you owned it?

#1494 6 years ago

A few years. It's 60's I believe. Gold and stainless. (18K Rolex thingy) Toad band. Got the band from the guy here. Expensive, but cool...
