He is lucky that he sold most of the inventory ahead of the covid19 era. That much of the timing was real good.

Stopped up there today with Marlowe.
Lots of goodies left. Prototype #9 Dirty Harry for $3800. Looked great. A Twilight Zone in beautiful shape. etc. etc.
Lots of neon, boards, games, and stuff left.
I'm going to miss Al and the Action Pinball Warehouse.

Quoted from Brettv:Website says 3/28 there last day
I bought so much that Al asked if I owned a pinball store, nope just crazy with a lot of projects. Al will keep me busy for years refurbing and going through all the fun stuff.
Quoted from s1500:By chance are there any bayonet-style LEDs for sale there?
Or perhaps a bare Flight 2000 playfield?
They have a rescue 911 and another gottlieb pf, otherwise a lot of older wall art Playfields. Unsure on the leds
Quoted from Steve_in_Escalon:I would damn-near kill for that OK used car neon. Kill, but not drive to MN
+1, would love to get some of that neon, DAMN.
Quoted from dudah:I'm interested in that box of circuit boards
Might be too late. Sale started over four hours ago. No idea if it's still going on. Or if you'd get here in time.
LTG : )
Quoted from s1500:Now I feel stupid not going to the sale. Some nice backglasses there.
Another gentleman got a $200 wipeout project. That looked like it would be fun to bring back to life.
Quoted from s1500:Some nice backglasses there.
They looked in pretty good shape. My friend Marlowe and I went there this past Tuesday, he bought a Bally Playboy backglass. A tiny bit of wear around the edges from being in a game. It will frame up nice.
I liked the largest of the two Game Room neon signs. But right now when I might have to worry about food. I'm not buying anything. And I wasn't going to ask a man closing his business after 38 years, what the least he'd take is.
I hope a lot of people went and found some great things they could use today. Best wishes Al and Aaron !

I did find something and thought of you so I grabbed it. I'll bring it by at some point.

The parrot you squeezed ?

Quoted from lordloss:These are amazing finds, going up as Wall art[quoted image][quoted image]
I have 2 Magic glasses that I would consider wall art. If that one looks nice backlit, I would be willing to purchase it for my game and swap you one of my decent ones that would look fine on the wall but they don't light well. Really awesome score on those for those prices.
Al was a regular at Chicagoland jukebox show for years and Pinball Expo also always enjoyed him and Sue.
I never got to his place unfortunatly .

Me and a couple friends helped Al and Aaron a couple of weekends ago. They told a number of stories about the good old days. Al has lots of pics of he and Sue with industry people.
Al, at one time, rented 5 units similar to the one in the pics. Some with pallet racking to the 20' ceiling. Pins everywhere.
Aaron thinks they may have sold close to 1000 TAF's over the years. They bought them constantly.
I remember buying an IJ from them years ago. Al had 6 of them lined up. I had my choice. Same thing with WHO. I think he had 4 lined up.
They bought many containers of games over the years.
Of course, times are different now. Not sure an operation like this will ever happen again.
Anybody get any "Action Pinball Warehouse" apron stickers in their boxes of stuff? I was always hoping to find a couple to put on aprons where I removed them and it didn't go as well as I hoped it would.
I recently bought a neon from Al not too long ago. Been there quite a few times to browse for pins but never could make a deal. Old man bought a very nice Hit the Deck off Al back in the mid 80s for 200 bucks so we still have that though. I wish him all the best and hope he enjoys a happy retirement.
Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:If anyone needs a pinball or arcade key...I know a guy.
I've lost so many of them over the years. I always wondered where they went. Thanks for the pic!!!

The TZ was in great shape.... so good it came home with me! It’s all shopped out with fresh LEDs. It looked so good I didn’t even turn it on in the shop
1st time ever meeting Al and Aaron but seemed like great guys. Would have liked to shoot the breeze a bit more but wanted to practice proper COVID-19 practices.
Anyone know any history on this machine? I forgot to ask. It’s in such good shape I can’t imagine it’s been routed. Maybe I will call Al back and ask but don’t want to be a bother.
In the garage still so I can add some cliffy’s to it as well as update the greed and clock switches.

Quoted from Dayhuff:Wish I was closer, I'd bought it all.
Haven’t you been trying to get rid of junk at PATZ for the last umpteen years? You have a problem!
Quoted from Kwoody51:Anyone know any history on this machine?
It was designed by Pat Lawlor based off a TV show popular in the early 1960's
Sorry couldn't resist.
Seriously though...It is quite possible that a portion of Al's inventory could have been resold over the years based on trade ins from customers. If it's in really good shape maybe it was bought back in the late 90's, kept in the home, traded in during the housing bubble collapse or times like this, then resold. Or someone bought it, got bored with it and traded back in to Al. Some pinball collectors/ small time enthusiasts don't venture to the social or Pinside community and prefer to work directly with the retailers. Not trying to talk us folks down or anything, that's just how it is.
It's quite possible you have a low route or HUO game there.
That thing have a matching board set?
The TZ I bought from Al was also in excellent shape. (The one I have now is a completely different one)
Quoted from Kwoody51:Anyone know any history on this machine?
It came from Action Pinball Warehouse in Fridley.

He may be in and out until the 28th ?
You could call him. I don't know if he'll ship anything.

The Hamm's motion one went early. $1200 I believe.
Quoted from yancy:Haven’t you been trying to get rid of junk at PATZ for the last umpteen years? You have a problem!
This is true, but the junk keeps finding me. Most of it I keep and rarely sell anything. I need another house or something.....LOL.
I was maybe planning on a separate auction at the PATZ show this year but hadn't really nailed down the details yet when all this shut down thing came about. But it might still happen when October comes.....

Totally should have seen that coming!
I totally understand how these things end up at a place like Al's. I just didn't know if anyone had previously asked about this particular pin and gotten the history on it. Doesn't really matter just fun knowing where it's been/ the life it's lived. I haven't looked at the numbers on the boards, yet.... been too busy playing it!!!! Will do that later.
It does still have all the serial number stickers on the top of the backbox, front of the cab and back of the cab. All look perfectly pristine and white!
If anyone picked up the Dirty Harry #9, I believe that was my old game. I can provide some history on that one, if the new owner is interested.

Aaron opened that one up so we could look around. Gave us the history but I forget. Al has had it forever.
Beautiful game. Looks HUO. I would have bought it if it was anything but a DH.

It's not me but I'm interested to hear

I remember when it went up there! That was a long time ago...
I am sure you remember that one Brad. If it wasn't for the damn Coronavirus, I would have gladly made a run up there to get it. I always wanted that game back.
The game originally belonged to Scott Slomiany, who did the animation for DH. The game was on test for a very brief time, and then it went home with Scott. If I recall correctly, there were several WMS promo plastics (the circular shaped ones like Diner and the Rudy eye from Funhouse with adhesive on the back) that were affixed to the top of the head.
I acquired the game in the late 90's from Scott, and I passed it along to Aaron a few years later. Al acquired the game sometime after that.
I remember Al back in the day ended up with that last gold addams family that came off the line at Williams. It was on the front page of Playmeter. Would be interesting to hear the story on that. I have lots of good Al stories. He knew how to make a deal work to his advantage and had a gift for finding pinball deals.
