There’s a documentary called Vannin’ that explores the custom Van culture. Here’s the trailer:

Looks like you can watch this on Amazon Prime, free with ads or pay $1.99, looks fun I'm going to watch it.

I’ve watched it and enjoyed it. It’s a nice snapshot of a subculture I’ve never scene. Interesting people for sure.

    Quoted from xsvtoys:

We watched it last night. The film clips from the long past years like 1970s were interesting. My main takeaway: there are a lot of people out there who know how to have good old American fun. I’m pretty sure they have more out and out fun times in one weekend than I get in 5 years.

Isn’t that the truth? Say what you want about it but it’s a good, close community of people that live life and have a great time doing it. There’s always lessons to be learned, even in the least likely places.

    Quoted from xsvtoys:

Right, and one cool thing is how everyone really seems to get along and care for and support each other. Not a whole lot of diversity but there was a mix of people, all getting along and having fun together.
The downside? Not exactly the healthiest way to go about life. Even though I was envious of how much fun they were having, I knew that I would never make it there. In my old age I just can’t carry on with that level of substance abuse and excess, let alone stay up past 10pm. In the 70s I would have slotted right in there though!

Haha. Yes. I ignore the health aspect and, yes, I’d be lights out by 10:00!
