For all you old school 8-Bit Petscii people, I have set up an Old School BBS. It is running on Commodore 64 Emulation (WinVice) running Color 64 BBS software. You can connect via telnet software. I would recommend Syncterm and change to Commodore mode for best results. You can get it here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/syncterm/

Back in the 80's I used to run a pretty Elite BBS. Ahh the good ol days!

I remember having 0-1 warez, no local callers allowed, I am sure I was sharing some illegal (Phreaking) information on the BBS as well.

I wish I still had all the old stuff, I would love to just read the old msg boards.

Here is the address:

I did all my BBS time on the Commodore 64. Never really got into the fidonet era of BBS's. The commodore petscii graphics were so awesome. Even at 300 baud!

I just wonder how much long distance I should have paid for that I did not.

Quoted from Chrizg:

Connected but it didn't start anything. Do you have to type a command for it to display info. I remember dialing up bbs's a long time ago.

After connection it should say Press Delete/Backspace key.

This is how the commodore would determine if you were calling with a CGterminal with Petscii graphics.

Are you using SyncTerm?

You can also try Putty if SyncTerm is not working.
