I'm trying to track down an engine problem & seem to be where you were. I just took off the ramp & going to look at the slave board. The opto board is a real pain to get off. (still have no idea how) Since it was reading in test mode when moved manually, I'm assuming that board is ok & it's the slave board. Wish me luck!
