So, the lovable Kirby , a pink puff ball from 25 years worth of Nintendo games, once was brought to life in Kirby's Pinball Land for the Gameboy, and that is my oldest pinball memory.

Ever since, I have thought I wanted to do something special for the Pink Prince of Puffballs.

I think I may be close to doing just that: a retheme.

So, I have a rough Bally Star Trek, and before anyone says anything... I am not currently planning to guy it our destroy it in any way. I am using it as a playfield layout to help come up with a basic concept.

I want to see what i can do with existing artwork, and creative art layouts, to see if I can put something fun together. So here is where I am starting.

I spoke to CBR about their custom game rethemes and the process that entails. I like what I heard and so I might go that route. But before I do that, I want to make sure what I am conceptualizing is possible, without breaking myself within the process.

My biggest concern is the playfield artwork. I believe that I will be able to come up with a layout that works, and an idea for artwork that comes together nicely, but I don't think I will be able to get it to production quality.

You'll see that I have ideas for what I want to see, but I don't currently have the skill to replicate it as an artist.

So this is where I start to evaluate what I would want to see.

Here is a basic idea of a cabinet. Porbably stickers on the coin door to have Kirby's face.

It's a good point. It is currently my starting point as it is the game I have and it's layout inspired the idea for a retheme, but I am not hell bent on doing Star Trek, so I'll have to see. If you have any suggestions on other playfields to use, I am all ears.
