I am trying to like these new X-Men machines,,seriously.

I have one comment on the artwork though. On the Pro, I don't like the fact that all the characters on the translite are facing the same direction and it seems like they are all on the same team!

I would have liked if they were facing each other, "about to battle" style.

    What say ye Pinsiders??

I like the Pro and am switching my order from LE to Pro, to each his own.

    #3 7 years ago

    Pro all the way.

    #4 7 years ago

I agree 100% the Pro is the best out of the 3, just not liking the translite art...

    #5 7 years ago

X-men Pro is definitely the best.

    #6 7 years ago

I switched to pro also. Pro should also be a money maker for operators. Well played stern. The one area im not sure about is music and sound.

    #7 7 years ago

Pro is the best looking of the three. I think it has more of a comic book look to it than the Le.

i cant even imagine how frustrating it must be to be designing pins today.

    #9 7 years ago

This is the only time I am sad to see the pro come out AFTER the LE...

    #10 7 years ago

Based purely on the artwork, the Pro is definitely the clear winner in my eyes. The problem is that we don't yet know how the add-ons on the LE will affect gameplay.

Agreed. The only conclusion that can be drawn is which cabinet looks better. Until we see gameplay videos and people get to actually play them we will not know which one is truly better. You don't get to play the artwork and "gameplay" is the most important factor for determining which machine is better and the artwork is more of a compliment to the machine. And just like TF, there will be those who feel the LE plays better those who feel the Pro plays better. Same thing happened with Tron when the LE came out and nobody thought the ramp lights were worth the extra money, now look at it.

Well, it did have the DP multi w/Castor track which I definitely wanted, so- in my eyes it wasn't JUST the ramp lighting that sold me on the (TRON) LE.
Seeing as how the surface mounted LED's are most likely still all cool white on this machine, I am looking forward to doing up the pro with my choice of lighting. (I still hate the pastel-y inserts on my TRON BTW...)
    No offense to Stern BUT,
It's time to color match inserts Gary... Not too hard a concept to grasp. (With the exception of yellow and orange... )

Like I echoed earlier in the release thread- the gameplay in the LE will most likely be slowed down with the additional features. Borg's games are usually fast; I want to keep it that way.
Still, I can't wait to play both the pro AND the LE.
It definitely looks fun, that's for sure!

And I bet there will be more mode/gameplay differences on the X-MEN LE vs Pro with the pop up targets and moving ramp then there was on Tron LE vs Pro. Again, not saying one is better then the other and would only make that claim once I played them both. Just think it's way to early to make any assumptions based on a picture which isn't even the real LE PF and is photo shopped Pro. I am still on the fence which version to get myself and unfortunately we will not have gameplay vids of the Pro vs LE until after the payment is due.

    Sure you can!
It's what the interwebs were based on!
I know there will be some pretty cool stuff going on with the extra features but, as cool as they might be, it still slows down the gameplay. Tron didn't suffer that fate- the drop targets were never an issue with flow.
I doubt the moving return lane will be any faster than AC/DC's cannon... And that thing is pretty darn slllloooooowwwww.

    #17 7 years ago

If speed is your thing then the pro probably works best. Everyone says how TF is faster because the ramps are smoother but the time difference it takes for the ball to get back to you in the LE vs Pro is very minor and they extra gate in the back really makes the LE faster. I personally think the ramp lights make Tron LE and the daft punk is a nice bonus as well. In the case with XMLE maybe the extra features will "make" the game that much better like I feel they did in Tron LE. On the other hand the extras might not do that much like they did on TF. I have no idea what to expect from the spinning disk, moving ramp, and pop targets and wish more information was provided on those. They could be implemented and executed very well or they could be mediocre and that unknown is bugging me the most.

    #18 7 years ago

Not sure I would jump ship to a pro just based on artwork. You don't play artwork!

    #19 7 years ago

I will admit BoJo, the spinning disc is what really interests me the most on the LE.
Hopefully they can implement a great ruleset to match the concept.

It is also good to see the pop bumper shot return once more, I love that shot in TRON... (Thanks Borg! )

I guess I'm in the minority but I actually think the Wolverine back glass looks really cool and I like the blue trim. Now if I can just find a stack of money I'll be set!

    #21 7 years ago

Not planning on buying one but I thought the Magneto version was the best.

    #23 7 years ago

Oh, don't get me wrong Rob- I'm still coming over to play yOuRs in the meantime... "Bub".

    #24 7 years ago

    I dont know...

    I might move to pro...

or maybe (I hate to say it) maybe just no....

    #25 7 years ago

I was excited before but do not really care for the xmen art packages on any of the machines really. I like the Villian LE the most. I am very curious though outside of the moving ramp what other gameplay differences there will be between pro and LE.

    #26 7 years ago

    Pro by far.

And cheaper with no pressure to buy quickly...

    #27 7 years ago

the art on the outside and translite is ok. pretty good actually, comic style.
for sure the pro is the best. really really better.

the art on the pf... i dont like it. again stern could much better here and fail again. i miss really great pf art on sterns like TSPP. even if it is a licenced theme, you can do better. way better.

    #28 7 years ago

Was speaking with a Distributor yesterday that got to play a Pro version and loved it.

I think we all agree that the AC/DC model works so well because you get a Pin fully functional without having to commit to thousands up front.

Gary, let's see some video of this Pin, so that we can make up our minds.

    Thanks...
