Anyone notice fewer posts lately about prices? It's really been too long for another discussion about whether they're going up, going down, etc....

    Take the poll!

Seems to me they have leveled off.

"Asking Prices" still seem to be edging up. I think actual sales prices are not trending up.

    #4 5 years ago

When I first started thinking about buying my first pin which was back in the fall, I noticed prices seemed to be getting higher by the day and the panic set in that I needed to buy right now before they go up anymore! Luckily, I didn't haul off and give into that thinking as prices do seem to have leveled off and maybe even crept down slightly.

    #5 5 years ago

I think there is a downward trend happening thankfully. Some of us not so well to do folk can now have hopes of a decent pin without breaking the bank.

Where is 'None of the above' option? Prices might have dropped off a little ... just like a Bull stock market .. a small pullback is inevitable. But I still see the popularity of pinball gaining momentum and getting bigger again.

I hope that popularity of pinball continues to go up, New machines should command high prices, but its frustrating to the hobbyist to see older B/W games become out of their reach because the price has shot up due to flippers using pinball to pay their bills.

Prices have been leveling off except for SM it seems.

    #9 5 years ago

I agree, there has been a drop in prices. Not necessarily noticeable in "asking price", but actual sale prices are down and it takes longer to sell a machine than it did a year ago.

SM is hardly the exception. SM prices have definitely come down from a year ago in my opinion. HUO SMs were selling for $6k. You aren't seeing that these days.

I saw ACDC premium sell for $4900 recently

Seller paid ebay & PayPal fees too

The buyer received $100 in ebay bucks for the purchase as well

    A $4800 ACDC?

    That's gangster!

FYI, there are no more episodes of HIMYM! Season Finale already aired.

Stern is still cranking these out new keeping prices low. Plus some had foggy windows which hurt the price on those even more.

Hey, it's like the classic muscle car market a few years ago.......bla bla bla

    #15 5 years ago

Demand is still increasing. Prices on most older games are holding or in some cases still going up. Some titles become "flavor of the month" and temporarily spike. Newer but now used games like ACDC, TAV, MET, WoZ go down/settle as expected. I think some look at those titles and think prices are falling.

There really hasn't been much come up for sale in my area this year. It's kind of weird. I just figure people are trading games and buying amongst friends and secret clubs.
