Just set up a Gottlieb System 1 Pinball Pool and have no idea what the ideal pitch of the game should be. Appreciate any input.

I like it a bit steep. Too boring if no slope.
If your flippers are working well, sleeves clean or replaced, coil plungers clean/polished, then they should easily be able to get the ball up to upper playfield.
If you are getting some bad drains, try adjusting your pitch.
The kick-out holes should not send the ball sdtm.
Keep flippin.

If your looking for a number you should start at 8 degrees and go higher from there. That will keep you busy.

5 1/2 degrees

At that pitch the ball will stall and wander, making for a boring experience.
