Quoted from rotordave:Well, it’s actually $6,230.10 when the extras are added on.

Quoted from ThePinballCo-op:These prices are all on the high end. I bet it's a combination of:
(1) People have pinball money to burn but few NIB in 2021 means extra funds to use up.
(2) From a museum, bidders are expecting top quality per machine.
(3) The publicity for this auction was off the charts. Everyone is watching this thing, and it only takes two people to want the same pin to make prices go up.
4) some shenanigans going on.
Never really seen an auction like this where people bid on items way beyond any kind of any realistic value. I don’t buy that there is nostalgia for most of these games. Nostalgia for waterworld? Buyers at auctions typically do some homework to know the value of what they are bidding on. Type into google “what’s the value of waterworld pinball?” and the first hit is the pinside page for waterworld showing the value and recent sales.
