In answer to an earlier question: The Great Hansen works for Jersey Jack now
FYI, if you look at the part number on the flipper boards it's something like "TYFFBAST"
for Take Your F-ing Flipper Boards And Shove Them
Apparently there was some legal battle with Williams over flipper circuit board patents
I know there is also some story about the artwork / character with the swords coming out his rear end too. I'll have to ask my friend about that.
Also, I believe PM holds the record for the most patents in a pin. Something crazy like 1600, but I'm not sure on the number.
As for pricing my PM is in pretty good condition I got mine around April 2011. The notable thing being a NOS playfield had just been installed. I paid $2200. After Stern announced Star Trek I tried selling my PM and did not get any takers at $2500. I decided to keep mine, and am glad I did. I suspect mine would sell for more than that now $3000? $3500?

A tech question
When I lock a ball in the trunk there is a noticeable delay before the animation and sound bite happen.
Is that normal or do I have a switch out?
I believe we did check the switches at some point...
Thanks!

is pinball magic really linear?
I noticed you can compete some objectives out of order
or am I missing something?
Quoted from PappyBoyington:Has anybody upgraded the speakers in their game? How about Flipper Fidelity or Pinball Pro? Anybody try them?
Cliffy told me no need, so I did not
Quoted from PappyBoyington:It's linear. If you can't make a shot to complete the trick then you can also hit the captive ball enough times to spot the trick.
Hmmm...I'd swear I got some of the later tricks without completing swallow the sword...which is the captive ball
I'll have to pay more attention and get back to you all on this
I usually add some felt along the sides of my playfields in general to prevent cabinet scratches etc..
But putting felt of whatever thickness is required to center the plunger by making the playfield always rest in the correct position for that is what works for me
I just did that on POTC after years of annoyance with the auto plunger sometimes hitting the shooter rod rubber and balls not making it to the top sometimes
Quoted from HighVoltage:Anyone know if replacement curtain pieces are available for the stage? I've poked around the net but didn't find any.
Bondic UV glue would probably fix it
Quoted from Madal:Is there any way to trun off ball saver ?
If I dont shot the fist ball out of the lane the game starts to look for it then after a time kicks the next ball out in to the lane. In the end all 3 ball in the shotting lane. And the game still looking for the balls
Ball Saver should be in the settings.
Are you getting the ball saver DMD animation and call out?
I agree with the other fellow, it's probably a switch issue...
Quoted from Madal:Thanks mate.
Over sea shipping is up there.
Is that the only place whos got it.?
Still looking for trunk and lower right ball guide.
Has any one done a run on the stage doors?
I just saw stage doors for sale (ebay? pinside market?)
I'm guessing you checked the Aussie stores for the hat?
And yes...bug Mezel mods about the trunk please
I wonder if a factory reset changes the time played? Looks great regardless! What's the story on this?
Quoted from sgorsuch:Well it has been a long wait, but it was worth it...picked up a PM today. I am blown away at the condition. It is in need of some new rubbers, a less stiff plunger spring and a few minor tweaks on the flipper and solenoid strength, but it is a beauty.I am still shacking my head on the amount of time played.
Quoted from transprtr4u:Dan from tilt toppers has completed the topper for PM, attached are the photos and the link to video. He is making a one time run of these units, so if you have interest please let him know at : [email protected]
Video link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=em-upload_owner&v=tecSc93Sz58
Price please....
FYI, I got rid of my Star Trek topper as I felt it was kinda flimsy/cheap looking
maybe this is more "solid"?
I got the OCD light board, but does anybody know of a retailer who sells Pinball magic LED "kits"?
Thanks!
BobC
Thanks for the info guys!
FYI, I have had trouble with incandescent flashers: melted spotlight cone at Congo gray gorilla, melted areas on STTNG borg ship (known issue), and on LOTR a spot light exploded and melted a dome, fused it to the plastic, and melted/warped the plastic. I don't think an exploding flasher would do a translite a lot of good either.
I change my flashers to LED now

I'm thinking about leaving the club
I do not have the current Mr Pinball price guide
I checked pricing on Pinside's "Games" search and it said the game is valued at $3240 - $3760
That seems a little low? My game is not perfect but it is above average and did have a new playfield installed
I checked the Boston Pinball Ebay sales history. The average prices were even less there,
although the newest Ebay sale was for $5495
Thanks! - BobC
