Yes, there are many accommodations near the Museum of Pinball (Pinball Madness). From low price to high price. Palm Springs is just a few miles down the road which has many many more hotel choices. Yes, lots of chain and mom-pop choices near by from In-n-Burger to some of the best Italian or the higher-end stuff at Morongo casino.

If you don't know me, I coordinate all the volunteer technicians, manage the museum and assist with the events. If I don't have the answer I can get it fairly quick.

We have 620 pinball machines. There are currently 520 working, different, pins on in the museum ready for Pinball Madness. We've been working our butts off since March to improve the attendee experience, fix and add pins. I take full responsibility for the quality and operability of the machines but I solely owe the volunteers who give 1000s of man-hours to keep this non-profit museum in shape.

Pinball Madness will be more of a halloween pinball and arcade party. There will be little or no vendors (selling related items). We will have food, drinks, bands and tons of surprises. Also a haunted maze/house that you'll all love (no spoilers yet).

Costumes are optional by encouraged.

Just added: A actual wedding at 4pm on Saturday August 21 on the main stage. The pride and groom and 50 family and freinds will be dressed in the Dia de Muertos costumes.

yes, we expect to a 1 to 10% failure rate on the pinball machine collection. We're shooting to have around 540 different pins operating when we open the doors on October 20. You can do the math. Even with the dedicated technicians and huge parts room we won't be able to fix all the failure during the show. We strive for perfection but I don't need to explain how and why pins fail.

And yes, we're always looking for technicians. All levels of experience. PM me if interested in volunteering at the events or during our monthly TECH DAYS.

Yes, the price is higher for Arcade Expo do to the size of the show, logistics, guest appearances, signage, marketing, etc. It's an EXPO compared to a big party. Please remember, no one is getting rich. We do this for the good of the hobby. The Museum of Pinball is a non profit (501(c)3) organization.

Which do you chose? Both. If you had to chose one, I'd base it on your own schedule and the information above.

Pinball Madness plans are coming together. We'll have a real good idea what this Halloween costume party / Pinball and Arcade extravaganza will be like. I've seen some of the decorations the crew has been trucking in and heard rumors about how the whole thing will be laid out.

This will be the biggest most bad@ss halloween pinball and arcade party in the US. Costume optional but highly encouraged.

Here's the walk I did moments before we opened the doors to Arcade Expo 3.0 on March 17, 2017. I captured around 400 of the 520 pins in the pinball machine part of the campus.

And if the casino and shopping is a turn off there are a bunch of very nice hotels in PS. Use hotels.com and chose one of many. I've stayed at the Renaissance about 12 times and like everything about it (except for their restaurants). There are a ton of great great places to eat near bye the primary hotels in PS too.

Last year it was required for Arcade Expo to move to March and St. Patty's day weekend was chosen, the weekend before TFP. TFP was the weekend following Arcade Expo and recognised as a growing and significant event. We knew it'd be a challenge for enthusiast to travel to both, even a weekend apart. Arcade Expo 4.0 dates were announced earlier this year and it appears that TFP needed to move to a weekend earlier for what ever reasons and earlier last week announced it would be the same weekend.

The Museum of Pinball supports all pinball related events, even when they overlap with one of our events. We believe even when TFP or other related events chose to overlap with an event at the Museum of Pinball, we together support the hobby and fans of pinball together.

And as you know, TFP and Arcade Expo are very different events. If you can not make it to Arcade Expo we respect your decision and hope you chose to attend one of our other events like Pinball Madness (pinballmadness.com in October 20-22, 2017) or "It Never Drains in Southern California (INDISC)" pinball tournament and festival (January 12-14, 2018).

Thanks for your support to the non-profit organization of the Museum of Pinball. For 2018 the dates will unfortunately overlap since we began ticket sales over a month ago.

We are grateful for our volunteers that keep our 550+ pinball machines and 550+ arcade games working. Final count last Sunday was 28 volunteers.

Our next TECH DAY is September 23-24 (yes, a TECH WEEKEND). The information sharing, networking, mentoring, expertise and friendships made are extraordinary. If you'd like to become part of the team we could use your help preparing for Pinball Madness and generally furthering the hobby and fans of pinball.

INDISC will be an "event" for both tournament players, causal players, spectators and enthusiasts. ALL the pinball machines will be ON FREE PLAY and the tournament room will take nearly half the arcade room, a very large and exciting improvement.

We have a wide range of choices for hotels. I suggest using hotels.com or similar. You can stay in Banning or one of the near by cities including Palm Springs. Depends if you're just looking for a comfy bed or a high end pool side hand out.

Doesn't really matter when you'll spend so many hours surrounded by 1100 pinball and arcade games. I dare you to try to play them all!

More cool happenings have been added since I last posted. We'll now have a close up "walking" magician each night from around 5pm to 9pm. We've also added a highly acclaimed balloon artist each evening. All included in the price of admission.

We've found doubles and basket cases, parts, cabs, working and non-working pinball machines we'll be auctioning. Not sure yet if it will be silent, live, one day, two days or what. Hold tight, we'll have details soon. We believe there are about 35 to clear out. We may even find some vids.

During the INDISC event all the pinball machines will be ON FREE PLAY. The arcade will be off.
Your paid entry to INDISC will include tourniment entries and FREE PLAY on all pinball machines.

You can make it for a few hours. It takes that long just to see the 1100+ plus games, walk the Haunted Funhouse Maze, listen to the bands, grab a burger and a beer, see some magic, attend a day of the dead wedding.....
