    Quoted from mbaumle:

Games built around the theme of a movie are fine and all, but the lasting appeal of a movie isn't nearly as long a duration as that of a video game.

Don't know if I'd agree there. Everyone here is cleaning jizz off themselves hearing aboot GB, and half of everyone talked themselves into believing Jaws already came out.

SF, Joust, S Mario...all games that wernt very popular. I know plenty of people have been saying Angry Birds around here for years though.

... but how many people are actually still talking about Spider-Man? Yet that game gets a reboot.

Everyone was talking aboot the SM reboot on this site before the price came out. Of course that's also a little sideways as the reboot was the comic strip.

I guess my point is, why has everyone for the most part avoided them? Probably safer to go with a washed up band or TV show that you know tons of people are watching.

    Quoted from mbaumle:

I can't help but think the only reason people have been talking about it is because it's new (to a degree). It isn't often a new pinball machine is released, so any significant announcement is big news.

More likely because it's a very well respected game and everyone thought, for some unknown bizarre reason, they were going to cash in on the cheap.
