Just saw this interesting article.
I know this has been discussed a million times but, I think pinball is in the infant stages of a return and as greater exposure occurs so will the return to prominance with todays kids. I won't go so far as to venture pinball will become what it once was in it's heydey (late 70's- 80's) IMHO, with arcades being commonplace or seeing them in damn near every "walk-in" business afloat but, I think it will become somewhat mainstream once again.
My 16 year old daughter and her friends love playing my pinball machines. I think that is because the modern video games are too scripted. Pinball has a certain randomness video games lack and the instant gratification of a good shot makes the experience more enjoyable.
I'm thinking that pinball will grow as well. The video games people have at home are nearly as good as the machines in the arcade - I would think this would bode well.
Beating the redemption machines will be the tougher nut. I like the idea from a previous thread that suggested redemption on pinballs with say 1 ticket for each 1 milllion points up to 5 million, and then one ticket for every 2 million, and so on... obviously depending upon the game.
