Yep and with competitions growing it could be that we are only at the tip of the iceberg. If pinball gets coverage on TV like darts etc and the mainstream appreciates and understands the game then it could really take off. Pretty everyone except enthusiasts just dont know how to play, what is or where pinballs at these days.

    Quoted from LTG:

Well a problem we are already seeing is a lot less used games coming into the market place. Used routed games are disappearing.
And if a collector has $6K into a new game, and wants to sell it, but get most if not all of his $6K back. Well the next guy with $6K might want the next pin coming, not a model or two old HUO one.
    Some interesting times coming up.

Yeah it could be that the home market will start to flood... If thats the case then will LEs go down in price in the short term.. All depends how many games get released per year from the boutique manufacturers... However given that they are the ones listening to what players/ owner want it will be interesting to see how they go..

HeighwayPinball, I have to give you guys credit for having the balls to come out and give the market something new and innovative. Unlike some companies that have been in the business for decades you have decided to include an LCD in the playfield something which could have been done years ago. Well done with your latest game and I really look forward to seeing more games from you guys in future.

    Quoted from PismoArcade:

The irony is the very thing that killed it off (video games) is a small part of it's renaissance with Ipad apps such as Pinball Arcade.

Exactly!!!!! I was thinking about this last night. Amazing how pinball arcade is bringing alot of new players into pinball. It is also great for current players that do play pinball but are not sure of some of the rules and the strategy of the games.

    Quoted from Ferros:

It is very exciting to see all the start-ups making a go for it!
In regards to a lot of the posts in this thread talking about playing on location and supporting an operator; I want to put a challenge out to any of the pinball manufactures new/old to actually make a game that draws people out of their basements to play on location.
How do you do this? Well, make a game that virtually 95%+ of all players can't play unless they find it on location due to its enormous cost... apparently 10k is far too low. Lets see something with 2013+ technology in it: robotics, OLED custom miniature displays all over the place, machine learning and AI, etc.

Yep agreed, there is not enough innovation in todays games.... How about color changing balls??? Things are starting to change but for current games everyones seen it all before...

Yeah its not back in terms of getting back into the mainstream, but it is back in terms of there being 8-9 manufacturers out there making games. it is also back in terms of the IFPA tripling in players in 2 years, and it is back in terms of Pinburgh selling out in less than 3 weeks.
