Hoges the telemovie (Paul Hogan biography shown on Australian tv the other week)

A 1990's era machine in a scene set in the late 1970's.

Props to the prop master.

Quoted from rcbrown316:

salems lot was filmed in 1979 so it was likely close to brand new. I watched it last night for the first time since it came out. it was pretty 1979-ey but still had some good creepiness in it. as usual not as good as the book but not bad at all.

I think it makes it almost impossible not to date this movie when it has David (Starsky and Hutch) Soul in a lead role.

Making the vampire a Nosferatu looking mute was a mistake too.

I remember watching it as a kid after reading the book and wondering why the heck the vampire in the movie didn't speak at all and just made stupid growling noises throughout.

Freedom (1982) - a local Australian production about an arcade obsessed guy who steals a Porsche and goes on the run with his girlfriend.

Good movie given the limited budget at the time and the opening scene is set in a typical early '80s Aussie pinball/arcade parlour.

Buckaroo and Hurdy Gurdy in the diner scene of Superman 2.

Clark Kent supposedly teaches the social gadfly a lesson under the guise of bringing peace to the galaxy but in reality to maintain the status quo after being subjected to some inconvenient HOME truths.

The irony being is that old mate Clark has to hide behind his powers to do so.

Quoted from Jtm3:

Final scene of movie Ready Player One, a RFM in the background.

Yep, spotted it last night. Admittedly I spent most of my time mentally ticking off 80's pop culture references in the background rather than actually following the movie plot. I think the best was the reelect Mayor Goldie Wilson poster on the wall which was shown for all of 2 seconds in the background of a scene.

Also a row of dedicated arcade cabinets (PONG, Galaga, Centipede etc) in the archives scene and a generic tabletop about halfway through.

Well this one couldn't get much more in the foreground.

Some baseball themed pin from the 1971 Aussie movie Walkabout.

BMX Bandits (1983) and one of Nicole Kidman's first movies.

Two machines in the background of the local takeaway shop.

Bonus nostalgia for the Telecom public pay phone in original red - as kids we used to call them the Batphones from the 1960's TV series with Adam West.
