There is a Gottlieb FUNLAND used in the X-men First Class. First in the background then later being played. Note at the time in the movie the Cuban Missile crisis is happening October 1962 and the Funland was made in 1968.

They also used a SR-71 Blackbird first flown December 22 1964 and put into service in 1966. The SR-71 was a reconnaissance aircraft it had no bomb bay doors. Nor did it have seats for added crew members.

In BIG BANG THEORY this new season Stewart's new comic book shop has a wood rail pin that can be seen from the side in the background. I cannot identify it from the cabinet art work. Nor I have I seen the playfield or backglass.

In Men In Black III agent K enters Cosmic Lanes. There are 3 Pins there. Anyone have a clue? The first is a baseball game two player animated backbox. 2nd is a Gottlieb wedge head. the last one looks like another baseball themed game.

But they should not have been there since the ban on pinball machines in New York in 1969.

I found the 1st game... http://www.pinrepair.com/baseball/tvbball.htm

Quoted from o-din:

It was easy because Williams only used that drop down cabinet for a couple years. Very hard to find front legs for one of those.

I had a Gottlieb Flying Chariots with that style of cabinet.

That 70's Show .... Battle of the Sexists

Anyone know what game this is behind Mike on last night's American Pickers? The cabinet is awesome and backglass looks like ring girls?

20160406_211123.jpg20160406_211109.jpg

yes it is a Bally Feedom EM Version
Early production EM had "1776" and "1976" on the back glass, Bally took the dates off the backglass so the game would not be "dated" in years to come.

Kutcher has a sky jump in his apartment in What Happens in Vegas.
Saw a Bow and Arrow in the pawn shop in the Book of Eli.

No, it was a FREE FALL the Add-A-Ball version. the Titles is Clearly visible when Kutcher is play tennis on his Wii. Note that the apartment is in New York City, and replay games are considered gambling devices.

An ATT commercial for their data had a SKYLAB in the background in one of the scenes. While two people were playing fooseball. The back glass was changed to remove "skylab" but the rest of the glass was unchanged as well as the cabinet art.

Not at all. It was part of the Showdown and they just said "...And this Pinball Machine..."
That's what I meant by "glossing over it"...it was kind of weird really.

Seriously? YOU watch, The Price is Right ?!?

#725 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Yeah it's a kind of popular show for the last 40 years or so....not to mention Babies seem to like watching it.

Do you watch Wheel of Fortune too?

STAR TREK S2 E17 A Piece of the Action. Kirk Spock and McCoy are being held in a store room. There are several wood rail pins and a slot machine in the back ground. I could not read the titles. But the story had them on a planet that used a book about the Chicago Mobsters as a basis for their society. The cars were from the late 20s and early 30s Pins were not period correct.

Quoted from Crile1:

Watched Lone Wolf McQuade with Chuck Norris last night (don't ask me why). There was a Rapid Fire and another pin in the room of the evil midget in a wheelchair (I can't make this stuff up). I couldn't make out what the other pin was, but looked like a 70's early 80's solid state.

It was Bally Xenon, plus several cocktail video games.
The wife and I watched it on Amazon or Netflix today.

Forged in Fire episode this Wed, they are making knives out of a pinball machine.

what sell is in there to harden? Besides Leg bolts and plungers

Quoted from gliebig:

Got me. I guess just the legs. Seems odd.

i have the show being recorded, I drilled and tapped two balls for tables I made. I Needed carbide to cut a flat to drill into. even the cores were tough

#1422 7 months ago
Quoted from gliebig:

I forgot to watch it.

I saw part of it. the game was "stocked" with flat steel in the playfield area and there was W-1 round stock inside the legs.
The cabinet of the game was repainted white.

They used a Gottlieb Sunset 1962 which has the 5 captive balls in the center of the playfield like the much hated Williams Darling/Jubliee
Playfield platics were replaced with bars of 5160 steel
Legs were cut and then W-1 steel welded in them.
The game itself took no real damage.

There was a short close up of the Bally Fireball in play...
