Quoted from Tigger64:

I think that is for two reasons:
- the chimes are sort of a universal pinball sound that most viewers can quickly understand
- if you use the sounds that come with modern games, they might get into an issue with paying for rights (esp the music) Look at all the hassle WKRP had with the music when it came time for DVD box sets.

Chimes are used because they don't require licensing soundbites. They go through the trouble of "greeking" the machines to change the names (I've seen Pin*Bot become PinBo, or, my favorite, Earthshaker became Art Shaker) they have to do the same with the sounds. I don't pretend to understand what would happen if they would just leave the name intact on a game, but there's money behind it, I'm sure...

I'll bet Pat McMahon could get us a clearer shot, seeing as how he edited the show. Now...does anyone know Pat??

Quoted from Sparky:

The opening credits of Stephen King's The Stand tv mini series (sorry the screen shot is so bad, but I pulled it off youtube, and it was bad there, too).

I picked up this game from someone who got it from Universal (the actual studios) He has no idea what it was used for. Does it look familiar to anyone? By the way, it's a nice Williams Blackout under all those rainbows.

Quoted from bssbllr:

These were in the background of Celebrity Wife Swap (they came up with the name) lol. The episode with Rick Flare and Roddy Piper, they were in the background of Roddys house. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas of witch games they are?

I’ve been meaning to post some close ups of the infamous Galaxy for you guys. It was brought to my place by a film crew a few years ago. I guess they didn’t specify “working”’ pinball machine at the prop house because I had to take some time to get it working for them. Enjoy.

Quoted from phillyfan64:

Supergirl 2 nights ago. This has been shown several times but I still have no idea what it really is. It says Cosmic Goddess.
[quoted image]

Just saw the Cosmic Goddess from Supergirl at a Hollywood prop house. It’s a Skylab (or Spacelab).
