Watched a movie called "overdrive" last night on hulu...lo and behold...a gottlieb cue ball wizard was in the background of the guys bachelor pad
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Couple movies I've seen recently. Not sure if they've been mentioned already?
The Toy with Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason. The kid has a Volcano, Haunted House and a Mars God of War in his bedroom
The Rose with Bette Midler. Towards the end of the movie she stops at a honky tonk bar and there's a unidentified pin in the background.
Ok...im going back to watch "the Toy"
Lol. I never noticed. Of course, i probably havent watched it in 30 years.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Hadn’t heard of Uncut Gems, have to look that one up.
Uncut Gems is a 2019 American crime thriller film directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ronald Bronstein. The film stars Adam Sandler as Howard Ratner, a Jewish jeweler and gambling addict in New York City's Diamond District, who must retrieve an expensive gem he purchased to pay off his debts. The film also stars Kevin Garnett, Idina Menzel, Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox, and Eric Bogosian. Filming took place from September to November 2018. The original score was composed by Daniel Lopatin. Distribution by Netflix.
Apparently, it is Sandler's role of his lifetime.
It has VERY high ratings.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:I've watched the Bourne identity probably 20x over the years and never noticed this before. Looks like a pin or two in the diner Jason and Marie stop at?[quoted image]
Yes, but what pins are they?
Quoted from SkyKing2301:Sounds like it's time for a Sticky post with a full list, or a Google Spreadsheet, or something!
Agreed
Quoted from Electronmagic:The Walking Dead season 1 episode 6. World Poker Tour and NBA Fast Break[quoted image][quoted image]
Sooooo...no TWD???
Quoted from pinwiztom:I am thinking the pin against the wall might be GTB Street Fighter II.
what do you guys think?
Notice the placement of the Gottlieb Logos and the white leg kick on the center left and arm of the female fighter on the right
[quoted image]
Yes, I believe you are correct.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Nice try, but beat you to it (although your pics are better): https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-in-movies-or-tv-shows-name-a-game-you-have-seen-in-the-background/page/43#post-5662156
Lol! Yea...i don't go back and double-check...i just post them.
My pic is better than yours though.
Quoted from PinMonk:Why would you have Shrek AND Family Guy when it's literally the same game just reskinned...?
Why would you bite the head off a bat?
Screenshot_20201117-123356~2 (resized).pngQuoted from MacroMegas:Pam Grier’s sons are playing Harlem Globetrotters when she finds them skipping school in Mars Attacks!
Quoted from FlipperMagician:Holy Crap! can't believe TRON is just now coming up in this thread.
Me either!!
I was watching it the other night, and I paused it to identify all the pins (we all do that...right?). Then i looked in here to see if they were all listed...and it wasnt on here at all! I couldnt believe it.
The REALLY crazy thing is that if you "google it" there are actually fan pages that list all of the video games in the movies, but there is NO mention of the pinballs!
Quoted from Daditude:I'm watching Good Burger and noticed a lot of pinballs. I can see rescue 911and what looks to be a T2, but I can't tell the rest. Does anyone know?
(Some of you guys are GREAT at that)
Quoted from russdx:Seen a few pins on 'Good Burger' on mini golf scene (kids fav movie) And kids started watching 'Malcolm in the middle' and there is a few pins in a couple episodes when they are at the arcade.
I took a few pics on Good Burger. I can see a rescue 911, Judge Dredd, and a Tommy...there are more, however.

Any pics?
Quoted from girloveswaffles:You forgot to mention the Haunted House next to it.
I feel like your avatar should be a bottle of maple syrup.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:The Black Hole in Strange Brew has been mentioned before but what game is beside it?
[quoted image]
It is an Atari Superman
Quoted from Hayfarmer:At 1.43, the band walks thru the pinball museum in Vegas, I think that's where they are anyways
That is definitely the PHOF. I just went there a week ago. The robo-war and Qbert are in the same exact place as in the video.
Quoted from Fezmid:Session 2, episode 9 (season finale) of Doom Patrol has a bunch of pins and arcade games when a main character is sitting in an arcade at a country fair. There's a Funhouse... a Time Crusaders which doesn't seem to be real? I cant make out the other three.
[quoted image]
I see cyclone, black knight 2000, fun house, and time crusaders, but I'm not sure about the one on the far right.
Quoted from Manhattan:Jason Sudeikis is a pinhead. I even saw or read an interview he did where its revealed that he grinded over Ted Lasso concepts/writing over pinball and beer at his house with the Asst. Coach on the show who is a writer/co-creator as well I believe.
I can vouch for this. I have personally seen him at arcades multiple times.
Quoted from gdonovan:I wonder how many of these pins are repeat offenders from the same prop house? There was a Bow and Arrow in Book of Eli.
Pics?
Quoted from Donnyman:On HULU Pam & Tommy, Episode 3. 18 min into it you can see a out of focused pin behind Pamela. My guess It's Phantom of the Opera, but I'm a little blurry too. Time for bed
Come on!!
Lol
Quoted from Donnyman:On HULU Pam & Tommy, Episode 3. 18 min into it you can see a out of focused pin behind Pamela. My guess It's Phantom of the Opera, but I'm a little blurry too. Time for bed
Hulu's Pam and Tommy
It looks like a Stern Galaxy.
Quoted from FlipperMagician:Can't believe this hasn't been posted yet, but it is also the first time I noticed it.. Spaceballs has Space Invaders
[quoted image][quoted image]
Quoted from girloveswaffles:It's been mentioned before:

Now we need a pic of the night rider
Quoted from screaminr:Stranger things season 4 episode 2

A couple more pics:

It seems that just about every year someone mentions the pinball in Home Alone.
Tis the season
Quoted from Fezmid:In The Christmas Chronicles, there are a couple of machines in the background of the thugs' hideout. I don't recommend the movie (it went from sappy Lifetime movie to "am I high?" halfway through).
I can't tell what machines they are though.
[quoted image]
I see a black knight, road kings, and I'm not sure what the third one is
Edit: The third one is Moon flight. Not one you see everyday...or even in a lifetime.
Quoted from northerndude:S2E8 newest Ted Lasso (btw, pretty much the best the show running these days)
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
Quoted from Manhattan:Jason Sudeikis is a pinhead. I even saw or read an interview he did where its revealed that he grinded over Ted Lasso concepts/writing over pinball and beer at his house with the Asst. Coach on the show who is a writer/co-creator as well I believe.
I was just watching this episode. I had to check if it was showcased on here.
I met Jason Sudeikas at an arcade playing pinball. He is a cool guy.
Quoted from PinMonk:Do you know what episode this was? The name of the episode or the season?
It appears they have had multiple pinballs through the years. I was looking and found the one above...and then several others.
I will try to find it.
You asked for it, you got it:
Brand new movie....Five nights at Freddy's
1976 Gottlieb Card Whiz, 1977 Gottlieb Jacks Open, 1973 Gottlieb Jumping Jack
1976 Gottlieb Royal Flush, 1972 Gottlieb King Kool, 1979 Gottlieb Genie

I will still have nightmares about the machines they broke.
The scariest part of the movie for me was the smashing of the Pinballs
Quoted from Thegamerskunk:Hi, just found this forum and here's one i found. No idea if this has been mentioned before here, but there is a CV and a WCS in the 2002 movie Bowling for Columbine.
(Sadly dont have a pic of it but its in there)
