Pawn Sacrifice, the new biodrama about the life of Bobby Fischer has a scene where Boris Spassky is playing Stampede. I had the urge to pull my phone out for a photo, but I didn't want to be that guy.

In BIG BANG THEORY this new season Stewart's new comic book shop has a wood rail pin that can be seen from the side in the background. I cannot identify it from the cabinet art work. Nor I have I seen the playfield or backglass.

A Gottlieb Flying Carpet behind Oscar Goldman and Col. Steve Austin in the fourth season of the Six Million Dollar Man. Screen grab below. (Aside: There is an episode in the third season of SMDM where Austin and a Russian gymnast play a Gottlieb Sky Jump, which plays into the plot of Austin teaching the Russian about American culture.)

Spotted some machines in the opening scenes of Ash vs. The Evil Dead! They're out of focus, so I can't really tell what they are.

This thread is way too long to read through. But I was watching Pink Floyd's The Wall and if no one has mentioned it yet there is a Stern Lightning the groupies are playing set up against Pinks trailer.

In Men In Black III agent K enters Cosmic Lanes. There are 3 Pins there. Anyone have a clue? The first is a baseball game two player animated backbox. 2nd is a Gottlieb wedge head. the last one looks like another baseball themed game.

But they should not have been there since the ban on pinball machines in New York in 1969.

I found the 1st game... http://www.pinrepair.com/baseball/tvbball.htm

I caught those games as well, but didn't even think about the ban. Good catch!

Didnt see this one mentioned. I was watching the first Home Alone with my son and noticed one in the basement when the furnace appears to be alive. Anyone know this one?image.jpgimage.jpg

#378 8 years ago

I was watching an old episode of Wonder Woman from 1978 called "Skateboard Wiz" and it took place in an arcade that had quite a few pinball machines. Several were new state of the art solid state machines.

Is that a Full House maybe? Not sure on the maker of it is. Oops someone beat me to it.

It was easy because Williams only used that drop down cabinet for a couple years. Very hard to find front legs for one of those.

#382 8 years ago

Hehe cool, I figured it wouldn't take long...

I had a Gottlieb Flying Chariots with that style of cabinet.

I noticed that on The Goldbergs too - I think it was a 1972 Gottlieb World Series.
A lot of that episode was set in a 1980's-era arcade, so I was hoping to see more.

Never noticed that it's a Howard the Duck pin.

For those who don't know, this is a parody of the famous scene in "The Accused," which used a Space Invaders machine, rethemed with original basketball artwork as Slamdunk.

#391 8 years ago

Tommy had "Buckaroo", "Kings and Queens" , "Crosstown" and many others.

I've been binge watching Review since I first discovered. It's a really great, funny show about a guy who is the host of a show that reviews life experiences such as murder, divorce, and eating pancakes. There was a pinball machine in the episode "marry, run, party."

The Rundown, in the bar scene when the Rock orders a beer there is one older pin my guess from 60's or 70's game in back before big shot out happens

Quoted from flashburn:

lol, it's been like 10 years since season one. If you still haven't watched The Wire, you kind of deserved it!

Sorry for the necro-reply, but it just so happened that I read this thread and your spoiler just as I was about to watch that episode! Now, granted I was way overdue for watching The Wire, but what about those who were too young to watch it when it was new? But mainly I have to wonder why the spoiler in the first place, did you think anyone would think he was playing Whirlwind AFTER he was killed?
