Watching this video almost made me quit the pinball collecting hobby.

This was the video that started my pinball collecting hobby!

I could be wrong, but I think I'm seeing a dimpled playfield.

Is this the proof we needed to see?

Not an actual machine, but I did a double take when I saw mention of Stern Pro on "The Fifth Element".

That's from my wrestling heyday. Think I remember that. Never a big JBL fan. Cool you're watching old wrestling matches. What are you streaming on? Peacock?

Yea Farooq and JBL were teaching Kai En Tai how to drink at the bar. When one of them puked on JBL's cowboy boots he went bezerk and tipped the Lethal Weapon pin on one of the Kai En Tai wrestlers.

Im not streaming. I torrented all of WWF/WWE from 1997-2004. (Attitude era)

Another one shown again in the latest American Pickers. It was lit up and in the background in several shots, but not mentioned in the show. I don't know what it is.

We got one on MTV. During a preview for the new run of MTV’s Cribs, T.J. Lavin shows his doghouse sleeping area, with a Gottlieb Blue Note next to his mattress. Not a bad doghouse.

The "High Score" series on Netflix also has a VERY short glimpse of Dr. Dude in Season 1 Episode 6 ("Level Up").

I found this amusing since this entire episode was dedicated to the advent of 3D graphics in video games, particularly Starfox, Wolfenstein 3D, and Doom -- nothing to do with pinball.

there appears to be two different backglasses displayed in a frame and backlit as art (looks like a swapbox!

They showed that episode again tonight. The boxed backglass in the corner of his office is a Mystic.

Different kind of post for this thread, but it fits well enough I think.

My wife and I just watched the last episode of a little HBO documentary about a small town TV station in Pahrump, NV. It's called "Small Town News: KPVM Pahrump" not the greatest thing ever, but entertaining enough to watch if anyone's interested in short documentary shows.

Anyway - final episode includes some footage of them creating an ad for a local attorney. Can't find that exact clip online, but the commercial itself is on Youtube. Sitting next to my wife as she sat there confused - "Where the Hell have I heard that before?!?" was rather funny.

If you don't recognize that, the same background tune was used for one of the songs in Deadpool.

Jump to 10:20 if the time stamp doesn't work.

#3077 2 years ago

saw this commercial on tv a few days back... PSA for lung scans for former smokers. Great clips and snippets of days gone by, including this from what looks like a foreign arcade... perhaps a Royal Flush and ??? 4 player SS pin...

The operator for that bar really needs to rotate things out.

Edit: better clearer shot of it in tonight’s first episode.

I don't think this has been mentioned, but Season 2, Episode nine of Doom Patrol:
Williams Cyclone, Williams Black Knight 2000, Williams Fun House, Some rethemed gottlieb 2 player EM (Time Crusaders), and a rethemed Bally 4 player EM (The Dawn of Space).

I posted this, but you have much better pictures.

North Dallas Forty....is Nolte looking at the women or the pins???

Cant make out the one in the centre or the right, but the yellow cabinet one looks to be a Bally Monte Carlo (or Odds and Evens).

Quoted from Fezmid:

Session 2, episode 9 (season finale) of Doom Patrol has a bunch of pins and arcade games when a main character is sitting in an arcade at a country fair. There's a Funhouse... a Time Crusaders which doesn't seem to be real? I cant make out the other three.
[quoted image]

I see cyclone, black knight 2000, fun house, and time crusaders, but I'm not sure about the one on the far right.

Aliens play only using the right flipper, leans on the glass with his left arm. Lol

#3087 2 years ago

Also on The Invaders, season 2, episode 23, a shuffle puck bowler.

They showed the same location again with the same pinball machine lit up in the background in the latest show, with him doing commentary on a completely different show this time. They try to hide it with fast cuts but it was obvious to me. They are getting lazy with American Pickers these days.

#3093 2 years ago

Anyone else find themselves ignoring dialog and plot every time a show or movie has a scene in a bar as you just scan the background looking for pins?

That's a Card Whiz actually, the two player version of Royal Flush. I believe that's a Surfer/Surf Champ in the background to the left of the dark brunette also.
