One more from The Fugitive - S4E12 ("The Devil's Disciples"). This time a local hippie gang takes over a diner with a Williams 4 Roses (1962). Doc Kimble looks incredibly guilty as usual.

I knew the IDs would be easier with this season in color, but they really handed me this one on a platter. There is even a good playfield closeup with some multiball action.

Not shown, but mentioned in tonight's new episode of American Dad: the smiths are going to Al Tuttles house to see his new game room. Stan declares "He better have pinball". Later when they come back Stan comments that he wasn't impressed, to which Francine responds with "well, he did have pinball".

There seems to be quite a few pinball references on the show now a days.

Quoted from Joe_Blasi:

Stranger Things pinball has an laser war arcade game in it. And logo is the one from the LASER WAR pinball

No...there's definitely an EM in the game, and it even gets shown during the upside down mode. (And it hurts me to see a pinball machine with vines growing all over it.) I'd stop to take a picture of it, but I'm too busy getting my ass handed to me by the game.

That's anachronistic. Stranger Things is set in 1983, 84 and 85 and Laser War was released in 1987. Maybe it was the earliest game Stern had the rights to show?

That's nothing. On Happy Days, they were able to transport a Space Time from another time and space. Fonzie must have been the original Bally table king

I believe Fonzie also had the high score on Nip It for a while.

Boy he's been in this show a lot! I think he might be the number one repeat in the whole series. I could have done without seeing his teeth in color though.

French movie NE NOUS FACHONS PAS, filmed in 1965.
A fun-fair at the french Riviera.
Picture 2 - SHIP-MATES and FASHION SHOW at the right (not visible in the picture)
Picture 3 - BIG CASINO - LIBERTY*BELLE (turned off) - GIGI - OKLAHOMA - and far right another Gottlieb-Single-Player.
In another scene the actors construct a time-bomb-mechanism obviously out of pinball-parts.

Actors - Mireille Darc, Lino Ventura, Michel Constantin, Jean Lefebvre

In Laws of Attraction(Pierce Brosnan snd Julianne Moore) theres a Sega X-Files with a different translite that says "Global Pinball" on it with what looks like 2 pictures of Jupiter, some other planet and some fake stars. The cabinet side art looks either blacked out or covered up but the playfield seems intact.

The Mentalist S7 E7 had 3 pins at a bar Flight 2000 and 2 others out of focus or partially blocked

Early in "Blue Collar", Richard Pryor, Harvey Keitel, Yaphet Kotto, and Ed Begley Jr. are in a bar, and in the background are three pins. One is a solid state Night Rider. The other two are hard to make out, but the second is a wedge head of some sort.

Seven years after your post, here's a screenshot...Bally Night Rider, Gottlieb Big Hit, and Stern's Rawhide. Better late than never!

So, has anyone ever figured out which pinball machines (say the top 5 or 10 most seen titles) have made the most appearances in movies and tv shows?

#2281 3 years ago

It's been referenced a few times in this thread already but Toy Story 4 the toys are stuck in an antique shop and need help from some of the other toys in the shop. They go to a secret hang out (very night-club-esque) inside of a pinball machine. Screenshots below, click for 1080p. I can't make out the manufacturer label on the coin door in my 1080p version The manufacturer on the coin door apparently says "Fenster Macher" and the pinball "Tiki Party" doesn't appear to exist.

Overall really great attention to detail including the inside of the coin door, the lights, the playfield prop-up bar, the wiring along the inside of the cabinet to the transformer. I think it's a super clever way to create the mood they wanted. How do you do a party atmosphere for toys in an old antique shop? Blinking lights, cramped spaced, etc make the pinball a really good answer. If I have time I'll look up to see if there is a directory's commentary and if they say anything special about this scene. The attention to detail is so great I wonder if they shipped in a pinball or something for their animators to go off of.

Edit: Looks like the backglass and cabinet art may be an unlicensed generic asset Pixar purchased? https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/tiki-party-pinball-in-toy-story-4

Think the unnamed one is Big Shot (Gottlieb, 1974).

Pee Wee's Big Adventure
About 1hr2min into the movie when he enters the biker bar
where he does his iconic tequila dance
There is a solid state pinball machine (probably a early 80s WMS).
The one screen grab i got is very blurry.
You can tell its a pinball machine but hardly anything else,
might be easier to ID if viewing for the whole 2 seconds its on screen.
Might be able to ID from the CAB artwork.

I note there have been pins sighted in four episodes of That 70's Show, but I just found the That 70's Show mother lode!

In Season One, Episode One, the pilot, no less! Their local hangout, The Hub, originally had four, count 'em, four(!) pins, and a bat game besides!

I recognize Little Chief, Flip Flop, and Travel Time, as well as Deluxe Official Baseball, but the second one from the left has me stumped.
