#155 10 years ago

Surprised no one has mentioned the movie 'Tommy' yet.

Star Trek in Pawn Stars, Les's office.

Thats Hard Core Pawn. I stopped watching that show it sucks. All they show are low class, no class, wastes of human flesh.

Would I be remiss to mention 'Special When Lit'? I know, the tables are not in the background, but still, if you haven't seen it, you should!

There's a Baywatch with a broken DMD (expensive!) in Season 3 of Veronica Mars

I know an actor who was a cop in that series. Met him many years ago when we were teenagers.

I was best friends with John Schneider ( Bo Duke) in The Dukes of Hazard. Grew up with him and watched him smash up a couple of machines when they drove thru a building on the show years ago

Re: Checkpoint, I think you mean 128 x 16

I had to laugh at the guy who said Checkpoint didn't have a DMD - I think it was the FIRST pin ever to have a DMD

#168 10 years ago
Quoted from Barron:

The playfield in that game is from a Galaxy. What I suspect is a rethemed Galaxy is also seen in one of the new episodes of Arrested Development.

I just saw the movie "The Purge" and I am pretty sure this is the same machine in that movie. I am not 100% sure, but it looked the same. In the movie, the machine gets pretty smashed up, so sad

I was watching a show on the Discovery channel about extreme log cabins and the last of the 4 cabins the guy had a 6 car garage with an Indy 500 and a Diner

A Bronx Tale (1993) : About 1 hour 39 minutes in (the molotov cocktail / gunfight scene). I'd say it's safe to say it's confirmed that there is definitely 1 less original backglass out there for this game after this scene in the movie was filmed....

"Beach Queens" Bally 1960.

Opening scene of Buffy Season 2 episode 12 (Bad Eggs). Lots of pinball machines including vampire victim actually playing one when getting her neck bit. I didn't recognise any of them though.

If I remember right, in the club in the show (The Bronze), the pinball machine closest to the back door is a Kings and Queens.

In an early scene in the movie Natural Born Killers, the one guy they leave alive in their first killing spree gets pushed up against a Whirlwind. He's actually in the credits as 'Pinball Cowboy'.

The Blues Brothers. When Jake and Elwood walk into Bob's Country Bunker there are a few pins in the background. One for sure is a Gottlieb 4 Square.

Just watched Ruby Sparks. They had a scene that took place in an arcade that looked awesomely retro and had about ten or twelve pins. I decided to look it up. The name of the arcade was Family Amusement Corp in LA. I'll have to check that one out someday.

Wow just woke up from Thanksgiving nap and noticed my parents were watching an old black n white movie with Clark Gable called "The Hucksters" made in 1947. Walked in and guess what I saw was an old pinball machine in the movie during lobby scene in hotel. There were guys huddled around it. Quick glance of back glass had a lot of numbers on it, maybe horses and appeared to be old kind of gambling pin. Funny I started this topic and now may have found oldest pin in movie. Anyway just shocked to see a pin in movie from black n white days.

Is it me or does the topper on the Pin Bot on Raising Hope not the right one?

There is an episode of American Pickers, where they are picking Mickey Gilley's warehouse, and there is a beautiful BSD sitting there in storage.

Just noticed 5 or 6 pins in episode 33 of The Americans (great show btw) Flash, Blackout, Firepower, forgot title and another Flash. It was a bowling alley scene with a FBI agent giving documents to a Russian agent. I thought it was kind of funny that they had two Flash but I suppose that they only have so many 80's pins sitting around in the prop house. anyway this thread needed a bump

#199 9 years ago

Anybody saw Kick-Ass 2? Pretty sure I saw CV and ToM among others.

Also, if somebody has seen the movie Ruby Sparks and could point out which pins were in the arcade scene, I wouldn't mind knowing. I know I saw T2 and Austin Powers. I am thinking LotR, and RCT. They are all blurry and in the background, but up close, so it should be a bit of a challenge.

Sly Stallone playing Lethal Weapon 3 in Copland - goes outside to get more quarters from the parking meter, and Ray Liotta tells him, "Two kinds of people in this world: pinball people and video game people. You, Freddy, you're pinball people."
