salems lot was filmed in 1979 so it was likely close to brand new. I watched it last night for the first time since it came out. it was pretty 1979-ey but still had some good creepiness in it. as usual not as good as the book but not bad at all.

Yeah, Salem's is a creepy movie. And I agree 100%...definitely not as good as the book. Most adaptations never are. The Shining was a kick ass movie and one of Jack's best...but the book was still even better. More morbid.

And I would kill to come across a NIB wedgehead these days. That would be stellar... (minus the mechanical issues of sitting for 30+ years). Even the backbox on that Jacks Open looks so damn nice...

I think it makes it almost impossible not to date this movie when it has David (Starsky and Hutch) Soul in a lead role.

Making the vampire a Nosferatu looking mute was a mistake too.

I remember watching it as a kid after reading the book and wondering why the heck the vampire in the movie didn't speak at all and just made stupid growling noises throughout.

Salem's Lot all time classic and a yearly Shocktober watch. I don;t think any of Hooper's films are "Date-less" and I don't know what that matters.
Thank god i can;t raed or 95% of all movies mad would be rooweend for me

In "The Enforcer" (1976) about 1:12:00 into the movie Harry Callahan is playing pool in a bar. In the background is a Big Indian and a second 1 player pin (unidentifiable because most of the back glass lights are out) in the background.

Hot Shot GTB, although this site doesn't mention the Big Indian.

Right movie, right manufacturer but wrong pin. You can see the Big Indian backglass over Harry's back as he is leaning over the pool table. Other than being a four player pin it looks nothing like Hot Shot.

I'll admit that it's possible it's not Big Indian, but not likely, but it definitely not Hot Shot:

The other pin is only a 1 player, so it also can't be a Hot Shot.

Hmmm...so the pingeek list is wrong. Good to know.

The Karate Kid original movie from 1984 has at least two pins in the arcade screen. One is Flight 2000 not sure on other.

#771 6 years ago

I picked up this game from someone who got it from Universal (the actual studios) He has no idea what it was used for. Does it look familiar to anyone? By the way, it's a nice Williams Blackout under all those rainbows.

Freedom (1982) - a local Australian production about an arcade obsessed guy who steals a Porsche and goes on the run with his girlfriend.

Good movie given the limited budget at the time and the opening scene is set in a typical early '80s Aussie pinball/arcade parlour.

Screen grab

Last night on the news they said Jimmy Butler's furnished Chicago home is for sale (since he has been traded to Minnesota) and showed pictures which included a PinBot and a pool table in the game room.

The pin is raised up so you can see it in the shot. if it were at the regular height you wouldn't be able to see him "playing" it in the scene.

Caught this last night:
A 2014 episode of Squidbillies on Adult swim titled "Taint Misbehaving" Dan Halen has a piled collection of "Post war Hitler memorabilia" that includes a Hitler themed pinball called "Flipper This Fuhrer". It's shown twice in the episode.

... and I finally got a picture of it:Squidbillies Season 9 Episode 3 Taint Misbehavin _ Watch cartoons online, Watch anime online, English dub anime (resized).jpegSquidbillies Season 9 Episode 3 Taint Misbehavin _ Watch cartoons online, Watch anime online, English dub anime (resized).jpeg

Except I see the title is actually "Flippers von Fuhrer".

That pin shows up in a few Corner Gas episodes - it's a Police Force.

In the Corner Gas movie, in Davis' basement, he has a Wolf Cop (it's really an Apollo 13 that has new art ... but they didn't cover the front by the coin door)

Episode 2 of Ozark has a brief scene in an arcade - no pins are shown but you can hear EM chimes in the background.

The alien bar in season 2 of Supergirl has a pinball machine in the background, but I can never make out which one it is.

#789 6 years ago

Saw a M.A.S.H. episode that showed BJ playing a Spot-a-Card in the swamp. He had a gambling problem and was playing and pounding on it like it was crack. Jeesh! At the end he hammer fists it and sparks come flying out of the head.
Bad pic here, but they did show the full bg for a few seconds.

Not sure if this was thrown out there before...end of Goodfellas when Deniro is going to have Karen whacked (Liotta's wife), but she senses it and gets the hell outta dodge. Nitro Ground Shaker and...can't remember the other and the name is sprayed over. And is that a NIB in the crate? LOL

I think I might have mentioned before when I started thread but not sure, funny thing as I am watching movie now on AMC. There is another pinball machine in the bar they always meet at as well, hard to see what it is and not a real clear shot unless try to pause it.

Pretty sure that one in the first pic is a Gottleib Astro.
