What retail price did they attribute to the pinball machine.?

No idea. It was bundled in with a pool table, trip to France and something else. I was just channel flipping and caught it.

Hey, pinball machines in the oval office?

#5060 21 days ago

Alright folks, we need to revisit Karate Kid (1984).

retrocade mentioned Karate Kid has a Flight 2000, in post 108 (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-in-movies-or-tv-shows-name-a-game-you-have-seen-in-the-background/page/3#post-737764).

However, the claim appears to go to singlebanana in post 132 (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-in-movies-or-tv-shows-name-a-game-you-have-seen-in-the-background/page/3#post-883528) since he posted a video -- and also mentioned a Rolling Stones that's also visible in the background.

singlebanana also mentions a mystery machine -- but it turns out there are TWO mystery machines, so let's see if we can get them figured out.

Just so we have all the games together in one post, here's a look at each game.

FLIGHT 2000:
On their first date at Golf N Stuff, we get an easy look at Flight 2000, in a similar screenshot that Daditude posted in post 2237 (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-in-movies-or-tv-shows-name-a-game-you-have-seen-in-the-background/page/45#post-5732268). Flight 2000 is also visible in a scene later when Daniel goes back to Golf N Stuff to find Ali after being gifted his yellow car.
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png
___________

ROLLING STONES:
When Daniel goes to find Ali back at Golf N Stuff, here's where Rolling Stones is visible. (Flight 2000 is on the right of it.)
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png
____________

MYSTERY MACHINE #1:
Mystery Machine #1 is also visible in this same scene, on the left of Rolling Stones. Unfortunately all we can see if the backglass, but it's hard to make out any details. It's mostly gray, black, and yellow, with a white border. It's all they way on the right in this image:
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

And it's all the way on the left in this image:
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

Unfortunately, we don't get to see the front of its cabinet -- in this same scene, we can clearly see the front of Rolling Stones and Flight 2000, but not of Mystery Machine #1:
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

____________

MYSTERY MACHINE #2:
Let's go back to their earlier date at Golf N Stuff. While they're in the photo booth, another pin is visible just behind the booth:
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

Then when they come out of the booth, we can see a little of the backglass:
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

Surely someone recognizes this? I skimmed through the Williams games and didn't find any that seemed to match with those letters (looks like maybe ERD or EAD or ERO?

_______________
Let's go, super sleuths, let's see if we can figure out Mystery Machines 1 & 2 from Karate Kid!

Added 16 days ago:

Great job super sleuths!

-- Mystery Machine #1 was determined to NOT be a pin -- it's an Armor Attack arcade cabinet, as identified by girloveswaffles: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-in-movies-or-tv-shows-name-a-game-you-have-seen-in-the-background/page/102#post-8312410

I think we can tie a bow on Karate Kid now.

And back in the day I played many of those pins that were there (and the video games too.).

I searched for the game here, but didn’t find it. In Snowfall Season 1, Episode 3, 13:18 there is an out of focus EE. You get a good look at part of the front of the cab, and while it’s not in focus you can see from the backglass that it’s a space theme, but I don’t recognize it.

Does anyone know what game that is?

#5066 19 days ago

I’m guessing a Spanish game

Yeah, that Galaxy and also a moded Meteor show up in a lot of shows. The Galaxy was a little harder for me to I.D. in the first images that it showed up in.
It's so funny to see all the posts where Pinsiders find one of them in a show, and how the list of shows keeps on growing.

Posted already. Was it an observation on what the machine was originally? You know the drill about searching Key Posts, etc . Thanks!
