My kids would be disappointed in me and I’d probably lose my Dad-card if I failed to say it’s a great idea but should only be turned on for a short time once per day at 2:30...

maybe you are better off letting them go elsewhere.

It's ok to fire your customers. I've read the book. I think it was by that moron Bruce Tulgan.

Given how much I hate going, this would definitely help. That being said, the people I typically see in the dentists office probably wouldn't go for it. Suckaz.

So i’m leaning to just having one in my personal office, not the waiting room. Surprisingly, I asked the same question on a dentist Facebook group and the overwhelming majority said YES.

I sure wish my dentist had a pin to play yesterday, was backed up 45 min. Do you get backed up often? Something more than daytime television might be appreciated during a long wait. Of course people will just play on their phone these days too.

Haha sounds a lot like me. I dont like my partners ideas either. You must be junior to your partner.

I am the most junior partner but have been in the practice for 7 years.

    Quoted from homebrood:

In a doctors office sounds like a bad idea, it be a germ transfer device if people didn't sanitize and were sick or coughing sneezing on the glass.
In a dentist office I think the bells and sounds even the mechanical sounds would be a bit unnerving to some. Just my opinions.

I do interventional pain management so I am the type of doctor that people cancel their appointment because they're too sick. It was an excellent specialty choice.

And I agree that the sound would have to be highly mitigated.

Wow, how was the playfield under all that grime? Did the "Diamond Plate" live up to it's name?

I know I’m resurrecting an old thread but after 2 years of hinting that I would buy the Hurricane, the front desk ladies finally got sick of hearing carnival sounds and kids banging on the game all day long. To the point where they unplugged it and put an out of order sign on it. Haha! They told me to come take it away, which I gladly did. It took a LOT of work but the game is all cleaned up and playing fantastic after rebuilding the flippers, fixing dead switches and replacing all the dry rotted rubbers. Full topside tear down and LEDs installed. The Diamond Plate playfield definitely lived up to its name.

This game has surprised me with how fun, and brutal it actually is. The last pic is my wife showing her co-workers the new look of the game in its new home. Haha.

growing up my orthodontist had a 4 banger neogeo cabinet in his waiting room. There was a donkey kong before the neo geo.
    i loved it.

Very similar experience. My youth orthodontist in the early 2000s had some arcade games on free play you could play if your teeth were in good health.

There’s a dental office here in the twin cities we helped set up a multi game and skill crane. This was over 10 years ago. They were not on free play per se but the receptionist gave out tokens to the kids who were well behaved before and after their visit. The waiting room was decorated as kids theme as it was mostly pediatrics as patients.

My orthodontist also had an incentive system where you would also get a token per visit if everything looked good, which you could redeem for things like stickers or t-shirts. Basically Chuck E. Cheese.

I don't think I'd like the knocker or a large Gottlieb bell going off while Doc has the drill deep inside one of my wisdom teeth.
