I've only been in the hobby around 4-5 years and prices always been high. I wanted a Funhouse as my first game. Thought it would be cheap being an older game and produced in high numbers. Nope. Old timers have always complained that prices are too high. Guess what? It's not 2005 anymore. JD is not a $1700 game. Games are getting older, not coming off locations, and more people in the hobby. It's the same as anything else that's collectable. I agree that prices are too high on most pins but obviously that matters little when there are plenty of others willing to pay.

It may not be 2005 and JD may not be a $1700 game, but it is 2018 and I very recently sold mine complete and working with dead world mod and original topper for $2k. Once again, local private sale...a for sale post never saw the light of day anywhere. People are selling reasonably priced games locally and in private circles and most of the games seeing the public market are because they are from retailers, overpriced or because a person is super isolated geographically that there isn't a huge market for them to resell games locally to them.

I would say you gave someone a pretty good deal. I rarely, ever, see a decent dmd game go for that cheap. Love to get a deal like that. Anyone I know selling a game wants market value for obvious reasons. They got decent money in it, can get it, and need the money.
