There is still a law on the books in Salinas as well. Actually, in lots of places. Many are a holdover from when pinball was used for gambling. Others are because of truancy.
The 7-11 near my grammar school got busted a couple times and for awhile they left the video games off until 4pm to make it crystal clear to law enforcement they weren't letting kids play during school hours.
