Quoted from Mitch:

Downvote just means I dont agree.
It's not personal just dont agree that's the way the game should be done. Dont like any color in gi.
Plus it didnt come from factory with color gi so I doubt that's the way "it should be done"
Anytime anyone posts a pic with color gi and says it looks good I downvote it cause I dont agree.
You do know you can turn the up/down vote system off so you cant see them.

I kinda disagree. Down vote is more a “your a dbag” vote. Not simply because I don’t like your LEDs. But hey, I don’t make the rules. So to each their own.

Quoted from pacmanretro:

It's not a disaster story or nasty....but the way this thing was put back together is driving me insane! And I can't find a data east parts list to save my life, to order all the messed up hardware...
One small example....not sure if this machine is a computer or a light switch cover but, wtf.
Whole damn machine has little crap like this....[quoted image]

Glad to know that I’m not the only one that anal about hardware. I try my best to get my games back to all original nuts and bolts, whenever possible...

Quoted from Mitch:

How can you even tell with your shitty rainbow puke LEDs?

Ha ha, I do what makes them looks their best. Which is LEDs, like most manufacturers put in from the factory. I guess you hate all JJP pinball?

Quoted from Marvin:

those games have generally white GI, unless its mode specific. Colored GI look like shit.

Wrong thread for this? I like colored GI, others may not. Take it to another thread. This thread is about pinball tradgedy. People neglecting or otherwise destroying pins.

I’m here to have fun. It’s a hobby. Keep it light, life it tough enough as is.

I believe the remaining artwork on buck is actually printed on paper and taped to the playfield.

Quoted from mappy_mouse:

I realize operators have to keep machines running but that is just plain stupid, I would not spend one cent to "try to play" any machine in the condition of those if I saw them on site, They probably use more power being switched on than they would make in a year. "it does not compute to me at all"

Maybe so. This place was trying to replicate a 50s diner, so a few pinball machines fit in. I’m sure they are owned by them, not a route. At least the food was good. I haven’t seen that back on a burger, ever. Yummmmm

With today’s prices, the machines still out value the truck.

Quoted from someotherguy:

Ya know, Dremel can be quite an effective way to remove chips.. if you have a steady hand and know to cut high into the chip package instead of murdering the board with it.
Richard

Back in my early board repair days, I tried the dremel method. Once and only once. Way easier to cut the chips out. For the board I dremeled, it never worked again after that. 20 years ago, mind you. Now.....I have a much higher success rate for board work. Would go as far as to say I really enjoy the board work aspect of pinball...

Quoted from ForceFlow:

If someone insists on cutting off the chip rather than desoldering, a nipper tool is a much better option.

I always nip the chip leads as close to the chip as possible and then remove the pins, one at a time. Seems like the risk of board damage is much less this way, but YMMV.

Quoted from hlaj78:

Overhand ski-ball has been an issue in my gameroom. It’s unbelievable what kids can come up with.

That’s what has given me pause on getting a skee ball machine. My best spot for one would have the “head” of the machine right next to a set of French doors (largely glass). I have boys, 7 and 8 years old. I can already hear the glass shattering. Bummer, as I think it’d be a fun game in the collection.

Ok who did this? Lol

Damn! Well, that dc voltage is stable anyhow? Surprised the inrush current didn’t fry something, or maybe it did.

Nice work mat. I have a similar one for a cz75b.

Quoted from Classics_Master:

Yes, I did have this happen to me one time when I was first getting into the hobby with one of my games, after that I’m always nervous when people set tempered glass down on the concrete floors. I couldn’t believe how this was constantly done at replay fx and they actually even had some explode like this! Yet the repair guys always stood the glass on end next to the game on the concrete floors.

Ditto, I had one explode on tile. Oops.

STNG... beautiful wide body and great shooter.
Tons of fun

Add TZ to that list. I own TZ and STTNG, both are permanent fixtures in my game room. I owned a roadshow but loaned it to a family member who ended up on drugs and I never saw the game again. If they weren’t family, I’d be a lot more upset….

Quoted from DanMarino:

Yikes! Financing pinball machines is no bueno.

I agree.

I bet there are ample people out there who finance other toys though. Sports cars come to mind. I'm sure there are ample other examples.

At least pins hold their value, for the most part. But it'll be a cold day in hell before I finance a pin. Or anything else for that matter.

My mice were slackers, they just pissed everywhere and munched on plastics.[quoted image]

Odd one to repair back to original, plus a couple of wire hacks

I mean, that's kinda skill. Not right, but respect for whomever did all that....

Quoted from DanMarino:

PinJim, what's going on with Rudy? It almost looks like someone put pinballs in his eye sockets. haha.

Not sure, it was a facebook ad where everyone was ripping him on his asking price.

I could care or less about his high asking price, no way I'm buying a FH. Ya know, when I was a lad I thought that game was the end all of pinball machines. I remember drooling over it in Orlando, FL while on vacation - absolute amazement. As an adult, eh. Seriously lacking depth. And usually they are beat.
