This is not my ad just reposting for this thread.

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-video-games-consoles-other/london/1939-chief-pinball-machine/1090971385?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

1939 Exhibit Chief Pinball Machine. Found after clearing out an estate. This is very cool, however it's in rough shape. Please note that the playfield glass is in tact with no cracks.

Best offer takes this thing home.

Thanks

That's just what the ad said not me lol. I find it rediculous too. like they expect the glass to be worth somthing extra.

#290 8 years ago

^^^^lol I noticed that too

Quoted from pinghetto:

It wasn't quite that easy. It was multiple harnesses and trying to figure out shorts and opens under the playfield. That was the toughest cause they were hidden in the bundles.

What caused the damage?

Quoted from gdonovan:

Sometimes you have to; Out of 30 or so pins purchased I have had to transport 4 or 5 with heads on. In the majority of cases no keys were available to get the door off to access the bolts, one case the bolts were frozen and in another the inserts were spinning in the lower cabinet.
Strap the head tight to the cab of the truck, wrap it up good with moving blanket and tarp and head home. What else can you do? So far no failures with a little common sense.
Support the head, wrap it well, strap the machine down good.

Thats why you always bring a drill, sockets/wrenchs and vise grips. I move all my games with a 4runner so leaving the head on is never a option. Ive moved hundreds of games, locks are very easy to drill (like less then 2 minutes). Leaving a head on during transport should never be done.

Here is a really sad one. A local friends garage caught fire. Had 6 pins in it. 4 got smoke and water damage 2 are completely destroyed.

That will buff right out.

Think I buffed to hard.

Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

I actually used the sides of a rotten cab as wall art, looks kinda cool if you clean it up decently. Seal it and nail it up, now you can have even more pinball machines, on your walls!

I wanted to do that but the urine smell and black mold were too much

Quoted from vec-tor:

I had the glass spray outwards from the sides of my hands... It is weird because your hands are still
in the glass grasp position.

Ya tempered glass is strange. I had a sheet outside leaning against the garage at my old house ontop of a milk crate. The driveway was concrete. Wind caught it and it fell off the milk crate onto the driveway, surprisingly didnt break it.

Then a week later different glass, was putting it down gently on a piece of wood and it barely touched it and it exploded.

Does this count? And not because it's a horror title either...[quoted image][quoted image]

There is a thread already for this type of horror

Quoted from Colsond3:

It’s all good. Mitch customarily downvotes my posts. I’ve decided to take a break from engaging people on here. It’s not worth the energy.

Downvote just means I dont agree.

It's not personal just dont agree that's the way the game should be done. Dont like any color in gi.
Plus it didnt come from factory with color gi so I doubt that's the way "it should be done"

Anytime anyone posts a pic with color gi and says it looks good I downvote it cause I dont agree.

You do know you can turn the up/down vote system off so you cant see them.

Quoted from Nihonmasa:

but don't you think that downvoting anyone that does not share pour POV is kind of extreme?

Nope

If getting a downvote is extreme your gonna have a tough life.

Normally I try to save any mpu I can. Dont even mi d doing alkaline repair from battery leaks. This one is far too gone.

Glad to know that I’m not the only one that anal about hardware. I try my best to get my games back to all original nuts and bolts, whenever possible...

How can you even tell with your shitty rainbow puke LEDs?

And we are RIGHT back into same discussion......

Quoted from Murphdom:

I’m very curious to try evaporust in my new ultrasonic cleaner. The instructions say you can. I forgot all about it unfortunately when I did the door.

Now this I'm very interested in. I just use a de greaser mixed 50 50 with water. But normally causes parts to rust if not dried instantly.

Quoted from cait001:

I actually want to play that and see how it changes the game. Must make for some interesting bounces.

He sold it already so I'm assuming it didnt work well. With the placement most ball hits would just deflect down the center.

Wow, anything salvageable?

Just parts

You can tell by how badly the side rails are bent how much the machines actually rotted away
