That backglass is nothing I can find online, could it have been some type of prototype as the backglass does not look altered where the score wheels should be.

#632 6 years ago
Quoted from Darcy:

That looks interesting. Prototype, or a 1 off? Is it from Italy or USA?

Whatever it is I whish I was over there to try pick it up, would definitely be an interesting investigation to find out what it is all about and who made and or who altered it and how??

#636 6 years ago
Quoted from Ralph67:

Good for parts, would anyone here try to restore that?
only needs new, door, cabinet ,backglass ,playfield and legs etc

I believe it would be worth restoring, being somrthing that is what looks to be a one off (I could be wrong on that) , be it an operator conversion / or possible mock off / Italian / Spanish / Proto, whatever, It is a rare piece of Pinball history that could be preserved, to me that backglass looks to well done to be an operater knock off.

Quoted from Ralph67:

That game is in Australia.
I was asked to "have a look at fixing this " , no thanks , I heard its sat in a shed for 18 years , Probably with battery leaking still ,
As you all should know it takes hours and hours to get a machine working, that's in such bad shape.
It would at least need a new or rebuilt mpu and power supply
It might have new 'pinball Rescue' plastics and they would be the best thing on it .
No offence to Pinball Rescue as they make quality Plastic sets etc .
Looks like they painted planets near the out lanes too

It is on eBay au at the moment, with what I believe is obviously dodgy bidding or someone is really desperate, its sitting on AU $1,172.74 Time left: 3d 02h all except one bidder is 100% with the seller.

Quoted from Colsond3:

Somebody thought it would be a good idea to install a credit button in the front of the cabinet, by gouging a monstrous hole in it.

Is that Trident a recent pick up, The Australian release actually has the start button there, and a different front door, its a fun challenging game, especially with the right hand out lane.

#800 6 years ago

This is the front of the Australian release which Leisure and Allied Industries produced the cabinet, why the door was changed I do not know, but it all looks to be all original. you can see the cut out for the door is different.

Quoted from Colsond3:

Interesting that the one produced down under is different.

I know, all the other Stern machines shipped as knockdown games that were assembled in Australia by Leisure and Allied industries were identical to the others for some unknown reason Trident was different . The only possibility is when they shipped from Stern in the U.S as knockdown games they had a shortage of coin doors or they never shipped in the kits and they were left up to Leisure and Allied to source or produce I really do not know.

Start it at about 9 minutes in....

He was obviously dropped on his head a birth, or escaped the bucket.

Gives a whole new meaning to the word cockhead.

2 x Bally coin doors a Stern coin door and a Gottlieb coin door, a Bally backboard with what's left of boards on it, and a backbox Backboard with what looks like Gottlieb boards attached, how many trashed machines are there, sad, so very very sad to see.

There should be a law to stop cruelty to pinball machines.

Sliced: What is Sliced? | History

NO It is,

Brain dead bucket baby Neanderthals who someone didn't grease the bucket enough when those two were born and they obviously escaped.

What the f*#k does someone learn from doing that to something in good condition other than "me stupid" "me cut with chainsaw watch fall apart." UGG.

fu&#*ng seriously.

This poor EX-Wild Fyre currently on eBay Australia has been butchered, the brains of some idiots never cease to amaze me, and they call it Art, I call it dropped on you head at birth.

Aaaaahhh me eyes can never un-see that!

Agreed, makes me want to poke my own eyes out with a hot fork, what the f*#k are people thinking when they do that shit.??????

#2438 3 years ago
Quoted from Quench:

Seeing that dull rough ball sitting in the top right hole, it probably was.

It actually looks like the tilt roll ball that has been used.

#2440 3 years ago
Quoted from Parker_tz:

It is restorable just sand and then touch up and clearcoat the whole thing

Unfortunately from what I have seen from "THESE ARTIST'S" that do this, the paint will be that thick and most likely enamel, you would have to take it back to raw wood and start again.

I have a Stern Dracula that some "ARTIST" had tried to repaint the cabinet by brush back to original in enamel, I am still trying to sand it back "when it doesn't piss me off" and all it does is clog up and stuff the sandpaper, and I'm using P 80 heavy course paper. I do not want to go down the paint stripper path.

Quoted from thierryv:

Well, I was a bit fooling you guys.
Those previous pictures were taken at home .
I bought this Fathom last year, , disassembled the whole game and already begun the restoration with a parted out X and O's / Eight ball head .

You should post progress on your restoration.

They have obviously been at the same site since new with no cleaning or real service work done to them. Love the blocked eject hole with cardboard in it. WTF.....

Offer them a couple of hundred bucks for each and save whats left of their poor pinball life.

#2617 3 years ago

I realize operators have to keep machines running but that is just plain stupid, I would not spend one cent to "try to play" any machine in the condition of those if I saw them on site, They probably use more power being switched on than they would make in a year. "it does not compute to me at all"
