Quoted from Dono:

Someone posted this in the projects for sale thread... take a peak inside the game... looks like the beginnings of the "blob" are forming inside the coin door. Egads!

Uh, yeah....“non-working” be the truth.

Some of you really think i see this as a success, hahaha lmao

Sad thing is the person that did that probably has no idea why everything burnt up.

Flipper coils are not fused.

Why not?

Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

I got several warms and sunlights and I still can’t tell the difference. I mixed them by accident and put them all in the backbox. Is it just marketing jargon? Was I possibly sent the wrong ones?

Not marketing jargon. You definitely can tell the difference. You were sent the wrong ones.

Same as warm white and daylight LED's you can buy for your home. Daylights in the kitchen and bathroom, warm whites in the bedroom.

Sold a few games today ...The buyer told me his shippers knew what they were doing.
I was out of town and my wife sent me this picture..... I have a feeling this isn't going to end well.
[quoted image]

When the backbox breaks off will it tear out some wires too? Hope you report back once the buyer receives it.

Quoted from pinballslave:

it's diameter is 1.0643", whereas the 1 1/16 ball is 1.0625", so the Spirit tilt ball is actually 0.0016" bigger.

Pretty damn technical...the difference is less than the thickness of a human hair!

Quoted from BorgDog:

The story from the guy I bought it from is the owner before him lost the keys and had to drill out the lock, well he didn't drill the lock, he hacked the cabinet and attempted to patch up the hole.

I can't fathom that.

How many games were played (without a rubber tip) to “mushroom” this bad?

Looks like a jacketed hollow point.

Just a little wood glue and Novus, it'll be good as new

That looks like the one I went to look at....the lady was asking $250. Wish I had seen pics before I went there. I didn't even take it for free.

Got a tip to check out a pinball machine at an estate sale this weekend.

If that was a friend that gave you the tip....consider looking for new friends.

Not sure why so many down votes.

Probably the reason for the down votes was the comment about Biden. Whether you like him or not, this is not the forum to be making political comments.

Only 15% APR if financed through the Stern website!

People who can't afford paying cash for a pinball machine should not be buying it in the first place.

there's smoke coming out of it

Houdini....smoke and mirrors....hmmm

#5045 6 months ago

Here's an idea for the creative....I used to use liquid smoke in my electric train set as a kid. Why not add a heating coil and liquid smoke in a pinball game for the special effect? Houdini, smoke and mirrors. AC/DC Rock n Roll Train, etc....

I wonder how much shipping would be to California?

Is it the 60's model? Also, notice it's a "macine"

Another coffee table. I love the fact they left the cigarette holders in place on the rails.

Even brand new Space Invaders looks discolored. I think it's an ugly game, and boring.

Quoted from DanMarino:

Yikes! Financing pinball machines is no bueno.

I knew a young couple back in the 90's who financed a vacuum cleaner (purchased from a door-to-door salesman). They made payments on it for 3 years. I tried to convince them to cancel the deal and go by a $79 vacuum from Sears, but I was unsuccessful.

#5256 4 months ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

Kirby once generated 5% of Berkshire's profits

No surprise. $3000 for a vacuum cleaner? Seems like about $2500 profit on each sale!
I entertained a Kirby salesman on two different occasions. I was intrigued with their sales tactics. Got one guy down to $1200 but I didn't purchase. I can see how the less educated would be more likely to purchase one of those hunks of steel. They do suck good, but even if it was offered to me at $300, I'd still purchase a Hoover or something comparable. Kirby had a good marketing/sales strategy.

I find it very disturbing that companies/people are in business to eliminate credit card debt. Or school debt for that matter.
People borrow money to buy things then don't pay off their loan. People borrow money to go to school, then don't pay off their school loan. So who ends up paying off the loans? In reality, it's the responsible people who never borrowed/made the purchases in the first place. We're teaching people that it's ok to buy things with borrowed money they don't need to repay. Totally wrong.

#5279 4 months ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

If I were in the educational system, home finance and credit card usage would be a required subject needed to graduate high school.

Agreed. But instead, what are we teaching the younger generation? Actually, what are we teaching EVERYONE? Look at our government. When the national budget hits the debt limit, Congress just raises the limit. So what our government is teaching: max out your credit card, then ask the bank to raise your credit limit so you can borrow more...and max out again at a higher limit.

Maybe it's time to migrate to a cash society. Buy what you can afford.

So this guy is selling his EBD. I get one very fuzzy picture, but ok...I call him and he tells me it's not working, but was recently serviced, new boards, new rubbers....I ask if there is any paint missing on the playfield, he says a little; "one spot where the ball goes down, and one spot up by a bumper." I drive an hour and a half to find this. WTF?

Quoted from matt_adams:

So did you buy it?

Yes

Quoted from rollinover:

Yeah lol did you still buy it?

Yes

Quoted from lifefloat:

Those new rubbers really stand out against the playfield though!

Yeah, I pointed out to the guy the rubbers were not new. He insisted they were.

Quoted from DanMarino:

If the price were cheap enough

So in the end, the price was right and I needed a project. Now I can't sleep at night thinking about all the work I have ahead of me. Doesn't boot. Blows fuses. Burned components on boards, blown out playfield, mangled coin door. But other than that, it's perfect!
