Wow that’s bad. I’ve had good luck with supplies from them in the past, they even carry the floating eye in liquid for Demo Man, but that Rudy eye is not even close.

I understand the purpose of the screw, but the zip tie? The metal part it's going around is pretty sturdy and it can't be meant for keeping the screw in place...right?...right?

Yes, I am not sure about the logic behind the zip tie either. It will be interesting to see what other secrets the game holds as I tear it apart.

It's most likely to keep that wood screw from shaking loose when the troll actuates and gets bashed. The screw is acting like a pin here, and the zip tie is helping retain it in place since the thread isn't catching much.

That topic just came out about transporting W/or W/O legs attached. One of those things you want to fix and get it behind you so you don't have to look at it anymore.
Actually, you could have caught it on the cabinet face without the legs attached now that I think about it.

The legs were not attached, in this case. My Sienna has little lock brackets for the collapsing seats. And it stuck up just enough....

Had that happen to the severely water-damaged World Cup Soccer I picked up. When we tried to push it back on the trailer the entire front just pulled apart. The guy I bought it from tried blaming me, and I showed him the wood was so soft it was like pulp in my hand. I just tightened down the legs and glued it and called it a day. The cabinet is totally f’d anyway so it’ll get rebuilt another day.

I would even try using some bondo fiberglass resin if you are planning on getting new decals. Screw and clamp it up to get it back to being the right shape. Make some tape dams and pour the resin in and let it harden. Sand flat then redrill the leg bolt holes. It'll probably be the strongest part of the cabinet after its done.

Titebond I or II. Depends on what I have in the shop. I'm going to grab another of those clamps to put more pressure on the top as well. Afterwards, I'll fit the new leg bracket and fill any gaps with epoxy paste. Shouldn't ever move again.

Pulled the whole front off a Fire! project I was buying, when I went to load it up. No "before" pictures. I was disgusted with myself. It was sitting on a commercial carpet floor with no legs. Opened the coin door and pulled (gently) to get it clear from a wall so I could tilt it up and throw it on the hand truck... RIIIIIIPPPPP front popped off and I fell on my ass. The whole cabinet was weak just from general abuse; the backbox was wobbly as well.
Tellin y'all.. bar clamps and wood glue, no big deal. Oh, and the larger WPC-style leg bolt plates. Solid as a rock. I did use a few hardware store L-brackets inside the head to reinforce it.

61CtJV9YnqL._AC_SL1500_[1] (resized).jpgThis settles it for me. I have been thinking about hammering some nylon slide buttons to the long walls of my cabinets. It would stop this drag and rip-apart action. And in general, just make it easier to load a pin for transport.
I may be going to pick up a pin in near future. These buttons are going to be part of my travel tool box. Just pull the legs and knock one of these in on each corner. With the legs on, it will never be seen.

I use the tennis ball method now.
Take 3 or 4 tennis balls, put them under the front of the machine, push it forward and let it slide easily on top of the tennis balls! It works incredibly well and prevents snags. The cardboard corners method got hung up a lot in my car.
Best part is you leave them there, and just reverse the process taking the machine out! It is so smooth and simple you’re gonna be kicking yourself!

You just put two or three on the tailgate and roll it in. When one pops out that back you transfer it to the front and keep going. For good measure I strap down with three under the pin so it has cushioned comfort on the ride home with another between the tailgate and back of cab.
Could the bottom not blow out if it’s a older machine perhaps not the strongest?

I like using a waxed cardboard political sign for sliding pins in/out of my SUV. It works so good that the pin can slide around when I take a corner, so I need to be careful.

with the ball, doubtful put possible. Noodles, no. The game is resting on the edges of the plywood sides, not the bottom board.
I keep some 1/4" ply around to slide it in and out.
I tie the game down with a strap too even though it's inside a SUV.... It still can move without it.

Yes I use theses all the time and they work the best for the head and Cab
