The chest is made from a Raven play field. I'm not sure a Raven is a great loss.
What is all of that printing on the lower side of that collection of Gottleib play fields. Were any play fields installed and shipping with that kind of printing? Or are these some prototypes? There must be 10 of those play fields used in those shelves.

That is true horror on so many levels...
Quoted from cottonm4:What is all of that printing on the lower side of that collection of Gottleib play fields.
As far as I'm aware, all gottlieb system 3 playfields had layout lines and labels on the back side.
The photos were from a link posted on facebook (I can't seem to find the original post now)...someone was selling a collection of gottlieb stuff, and those shelves/boxes were included. Judging by the materials, I'm guessing it was someone who worked at Gottlieb for several years.

ACCEPTING OFFERS ON ENTIRE COLLECTION – AS A WHOLE - TO FEBRUARY 7, 2021 at
This is a collection mainly of Gottlieb / Premier / Mylstar pinball manuals, tee shirts, playfields, etc. plus one pinball game – Amazon Hunt. Additionally, there are some manuals, tee shirts, and other items from some other manufacturers.
- Manuals: mostly new, some used (mainly older parts manuals).
- Tee shirts: new, various sizes
- Pinball game: Gottlieb’s Amazon Hunt. Was working when disassembled for storage in 2011. Assume however some work will need to be done to get it into working condition.Collection currently located in central Illinois.
Quoted from ForceFlow:I'm guessing it was someone who worked at Gottlieb for several years.
Quite possible. I used to work corporate. A lot of stuff gets scrapped. Out with the old, in with the new.
Quoted from Vreuls:Succesfully removed the mylar
Btw,i didnt do it
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I have seen it said that Fire! specifically is very difficult to get the mylar off without pulling up the paint. Why that is? IDK. I'm not the type to attempt it so I can't say from personal experience.

Yeah, that's a Raven I would ACTUALLY buy!
Quoted from gutz:Dear lord. No respirator, no gloves, and sandals?!? She is more man than I.
Well she's transgender, so it is possible...

Sometime gasoline and a match is the correct answer.

I love how at the end she says "everything made it back safe and sound". The only thing that could have been damaged from that toxic pile of garbage was the environment.
Man those Andretti playfields
So man andrettis could have been helped by those and the wear in the gloves steering wheel area
Quoted from Coindork:Sometime gasoline and a match is the correct answer.
Totally agree in this case.
There's a followup vid on her YT channel of what she actually does with some of it. She disassembles a Gottlieb score motor (sandblasts the entire unit as a whole first) & desolders/removes all its switch stacks, talks of "completely re-wiring it."
Quoted from Coindork:Sometime gasoline and a match is the correct answer.
Needing a shovel to collect the parts is a damn good indicator.

Sorry to see that Interfip Dragon in this package. But the play field is still there. Maybe it will be brought back to life someday.

The cabinet was cut down. And the guts for the head are probably gone. I doubt it would live again as a whole game.

The story:

https://www.theverge.com/2012/8/16/3247574/1000-illegal-gambling-machines-burned-china
Basically, it was reported that Chinese authorities were burning confiscated gambling devices since gambling in China is illegal. There seems to be indications that some regular arcade games had their PCBs replaced with gambling games to try to disguise them from authorities.

I like it. Looks like a booth for serving free food at Woodstock ‘79.
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Cyclopes

The eye on that spinner cracks me up - like it can't believe what it's seeing across the playfield.
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Cyclopes
[quoted image]
I was over in the warehouse where that Cyclopes is located. I found a plastic box laying around and started scraping some of the raccoon crap away from around that lower pop bumper. What was underneath looked like good play field that would clean up nicely. With the crap out of the way, the lower pop cap is 100%. I am just talking in the immediate area around that lower pop and towards the slingshot. But I think when all is said and done that play field is going to clean up nice. The area I looked at did not show any planking: None. It just looked like a dirty play field collecting dust.
The cabinet is in good condition. All you need is the back glass, the boards, and a lock down bar.

Was thinking coons
Totally wasted and a good way to get really ill trying to save something like that
They carry rabies too
Wouldn’t touch it with a 10 ft pole

This by far should have a Twippy!!
I have no idea what to say about that. I mean, damn, even if you are debugging a troublesome short and did this out of desperation, just....why leave it in? This had to catch fire and burn for more than a few seconds, so I can't imagine that anyone was standing there debugging it while it burned.
Quoted from PinballAir:Just for the record : woodstock was '69 and '99.
Yep, was just kiddin. A lot of those games looked like late 70’s.
These pictures are heartbreaking; OMG, this could have turned out as a complete nightmare. I had to check the pictures twice to convince myself someone did this, are fuses really a scarce resource? Thx for sharing

The first thing I thought when I saw that huge lag bolt was someone placed that there for a good picture. Then I was proven wrong. Ha!
