Seems to know cameras...maybe there is a filter that will take a picture that makes it look good.

Was there a warning in the ad? "Caution Some Assembly Required" or "Adult Supervision is Required".

It's easy really, he touched up some spots and it reacted with the clear.

I believe the remaining artwork on buck is actually printed on paper and taped to the playfield.

OMG what the Buck!

#2613 3 years ago
Quoted from PinJim:

It looks like the entire layer delaminated and they taped it back on. Probably cleaned it with some harsh water-based shit and it peeled that playfield apart.

Or it could be Mylar well after the playfield was destroyed and they’re hopelessly taping it back down. Like a piece of tape when you rip it off a cardboard box.

#2614 3 years ago

Just touch that up with a couple of sharpies.

#2615 3 years ago

They have obviously been at the same site since new with no cleaning or real service work done to them. Love the blocked eject hole with cardboard in it. WTF.....

Offer them a couple of hundred bucks for each and save whats left of their poor pinball life.

Reminds me of the City Slicker I bought, had zero work done to it, and someone shoved a tiny plastic football into the eject saucer to block it.

I realize operators have to keep machines running but that is just plain stupid, I would not spend one cent to "try to play" any machine in the condition of those if I saw them on site, They probably use more power being switched on than they would make in a year. "it does not compute to me at all"

Maybe so. This place was trying to replicate a 50s diner, so a few pinball machines fit in. I’m sure they are owned by them, not a route. At least the food was good. I haven’t seen that back on a burger, ever. Yummmmm

I go through that area a few times a year and have seen that place, maybe I'll stop by for a good burger and some bad pinball next time.

That playfield looks like the playfield on my MM when I bought it. But now that is as good as new.
Hard to justify that kind of work though for this title.
At least it has been enjoyed a lot.

#2621 3 years ago
Quoted from Bundy:

Either that or they have 40 year old rusty pinballs in the machines. Given the condition of the playfields, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Just pick these up from an operator that was storing them in a basement for 30 years every cab rotten all wood swollen

Just parts

You can tell by how badly the side rails are bent how much the machines actually rotted away

Cabinets can be rebuilt!

Its surprising how long it takes to strip out a cabinet, good work!

Record the serial numbers! I also see a Target Alpha in there sell the whole thing, I’ve rebuilt a worse cabinet and that game is WORTH IT. One of the best EMs of all time.

Yes. And hopefully you can save the end pieces with the serial numbers.

It would be mostly a labor of love, correct ?

Quoted from cottonm4:

Hey I did it for DAC. It’s worth it because some of them are fun and EMs don’t for much anyway. It’s either top dollar collector quality or under 1k players condition. Or in this case better-be-free junk that would make a great restoration project if you’re handy for woodwork

Damn, looked like this pin sat in the desert for 20 years, then got soaked with a thunderstorm or two resulting in a rust bloom... love the brown ball sitting on that playfield so lonely... brutal!

Did they cook eggs in the machine?

#2644 3 years ago

I'd buy it for 50 for the parts and burn the rest.
